Anyways, easy to find a way to have her in as the leader of Atlantis. Especially when she started dishing out stuff about the Ancient technologies and gene therapies. And having Mara try to look down on her would have been doubly funny.
Or she could have had the gene therapy like Rodney & a lot of the other expedition members. Never understood why they didn't give it to her, or at least say as with Radik that it didn't take. I have thouht every member of the original expedition sould have been given the therapy, given how precarious their situation was.

I believe the implication was that it didn't work on her. I don't remember if I got that from one of the books or from one of the episodes, but I want to say that it was implied she tried and it failed.

It was so very hard to mention that in the show itself, right? *headdesk*
I'm not weird, I'm limited edition.

I'm sure someone would comment 'well, DUH' if we ever tried to bring it up, as she could never work ancient equipment and 'why wouldn't she try--that would be the obvious implication' blah blah blah...

Wouldn't that have been intriguing, though? The one person who was ATA-Replicator-Human. XD

            It would be totally cool!

I'm warming up to Atlantis AU idea more and more and I'm thinking about starring some kind of writers comm.... only I need few more people to work on this with me.

Any takers here? No pressure, just fun with everything we like about 'Lantis!

I would if I wasn't required to write a certain amount per week...my job and my after-hours life makes finding writing time difficult, at least on a regular basis. I used to do a ton of stuff in various fandoms requiring due dates and updates and eventually the obligations just burned me out. I don't want to feel stressed over something that's fan-related.

If I could do it for fun when I was able to I'd love to be a part, like we did with our "round Rodney" in the SEW forum. But if it was something that was going to require due dates, etc, then I don't think I'd be the best to help out.

(Oh, and access would have to be through here--most online blog stuff is blocked through my work firewall).

I'd be all for it. A way to bring in Kate more, if I'm allowed that is.

No due dates, I promise! I prefer quality over quantity and you could work as co writer and we could post this all over the place, so you wouldn't have to post it on blogs yourself, but your work would be credited.

But first we'd have to discuss the plot and what we're going to do and how many "episodes" we'd have... that kind of stuff.

I, too, would be willing to participate, if I can echo Eri's comments.

And, a warning - I am not good with all the science/technical details of SGA. I think I'm good with characterizations, feelings, emotions, but I suck at explaining why something works the way it does, or how the bad guys tie into this grand scheme or plot.

It would probably be a good way for me to grow as a writer, though. (Which is only my little hobby.....)

And FH - imo, there is always room for Kate!

Okay. When you have a number of participants you're comfortable with, let me know.

That was what I'd always thought it was too. I figured that Sheppard's reaction in Hot Zone was a clue; him freaking out about Elizabeth being in danger from the nanovirus must mean that she still didn't have the gene (i.e. had tried the therapy and it didn't work).

Hmmm... the nanites fix whatever the problem was that prevented the gene therapy from working, the gene activates... I like it!

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
