    Figured it out afore I finished reading - if I figured it out of course. In Altantis there are many situations like this!

And, that he respects her enough to honor her wishes when she says she needs a moment before she's ready to come in for the meeting. I think he wants to comfort her more, but respects her enough to follow her lead on the situation. He's not forcing himself here, he's just letting her know he's there, should she need him.
