For the record i don't like how Kate was written as "gentle and nurturing". That's such a stereotype.

    Now you better run fast.

I can't. I'm old and my hip hurts. Have mercy on Granny.

Are you saying you are not nurturing and gentle? Actually, I have a friend who is a psychologist and she's one of the most sarcastic people I know. She's got a wicked sense of humor. If her patients only knew. But you're not like that, sweet Anuna.

Which in a feeble attempt to keep on topic, I think they should have pursued Elizabeth's sense of humor. Surely she and John shared inside jokes at Rodney's expense. I remember the bit in Duet I think it was when they were talking about Ronon. Her "chatty fellow" line and his look back at her were priceless.

I would have LOVED to have seen more of Elizabeth's funny side. We got to see mere glimpses of it, and I bet she has a wicked sense of humor.

Please, don't let me start babbling about therapy and empathy and active listening. I don't need a worse headache than I do have.

SR, you're not a granny. I don't have mercy. Now go and write something sparkling if you want to redeem yourself.

I'm off to make a video.

Now, people doesn't anyone know what happened on today's date (6th June), 64 years ago? It's a pretty important thing.
Let me have a wild guess: Allied invasion of Normandy?

Finally!!!!! *claps* God, I thought people knew that happened 64 years ago. That event changed the world. It's something we should remember.

And I think both John and Elizabeth would know.

Yep, particularly John. The whole world owes a debt of gratitude to those brave soldiers.

                      Now, Nick is back.

                      Spoiler:
Nicholas Sheppard was sitting on his knees in his mother's office chair while she stood in the doorway talking to Rodney McKay. Nicholas was busy illustrating his mastery of a new concept by opening and closing Elizabeth's lap top computer.

                      “Open!” he shouted.

                      Click. “Closed!”

                      “Open!”

“Nicholas.” His mother's voice failed to distract him.

                      Click. “Closed!”

“Open!” Nicholas was getting a bit bored with his new skill, so he began rotating the chair from side to side.

                      Click. “Closed!”

“Nick, for the love of ... ,” Elizabeth took a few steps closer to the desk and held the computer closed with one hand while continuing to try to concentrate on what Rodney was saying.

“So anyway, Zalenka says we should increase the power allotment to the crew quarters, but I say they are just using too much hot water and should suck it up. Clearly some of the Marines could use a good cold shower anyway...”

“Mommy! Open!” Nicholas had given up on the lap top and was now pointing.

“Just a minute Nickie, Mommy is talking to Uncle Rodney.”

“But Mommy, open!” Nick's voice had risen in volume and he was now pointing more insistently at the general area of Rodney's crotch.

“ And, “ McKay continued, “we need to begin some sort of power conservation methods in the mess hall. They are clearly going over their previous levels of consumption. If Sheppard didn't insist on a hot meal for his men at all hours of the day and...what?” He had noticed the little boy's now gesticulating finger and looked down at his own middle.

“Uncle Wodney's zipper is open!” Nicholas shouted before clapping both hands over his mouth and laughing in childish glee.

Rodney turned aside to hastily do himself up, and Elizabeth hid a grin as she redirected Nick's attention back to the lap top.

A lot of things happened on June 6th. Your saying 64 years ago narrowed the choice a little.

John would - It's one of the greatest moments of the US military (unless he was as bad a cadet as he is an officer). Elizabeth should also - she had to study a lot of history in international relations school

But I love her snide sense of humor best. Like in Inferno, where she's poking fun of the hot babe, or Coup d' etat, where she's mocking Ladon.

Or even "Misbegotten" where she's teasing John for defending her honor against Woolsey when they both know she's perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Hee!
