His hands were shaking. Kolya ducked. Somebody punched John (one of the Genii soldiers he thought he had killed - they can actually keep this guy captive, have Carson heal his wounds and make him talk where Elizabeth could be held, because Kolya probably wouldn't keep her on the Genii homeworld).

Yay! My plot bunny was set in the future, simply because I'm a canon-o-phile and my current bunnies have to incorporate the return of Elizabeth. But it would work brilliantly in AU beginning with The Eye.

As for him shooting, perhaps he opts not to in this AU, knowing the truth?

yep, much more dramatic!! John shoots at Kolya, being sure he won't miss (and not knowing she's pregnant). Someone hits John, or Kolya moves Elizabeth which makes it impossible for him to have a perfect shot. And Kolya and Liz go through the gate...

"...What would John do? Would he be a pilot? What would Elizabeth do in WW2? Give me your ideas people and let's have fun, but keep in mind - we have to fit the story into actual historical context and things (i.e. battles) that really happened.

I remember reading an AU Fic a year or so ago with John & Elizabeth crossing paths at various times during WWII through the Berlin Air Lift. Elizabeth was an OSS agent, John a pilot. Can't remember the name or whether it was on ff.net or some other site, but it was pretty good and the historical stuff was basically accurate.

Is it the one by Beaker Bait that was well written but fairly disturbing (although i dont think she was taken by Koyla just slavers in that one) and it was a more melancholy ending but the sequel was a great piece with dealling with the aftermath of the whole thing.

It was called Anything? and its sequels was Recovery warning they are not for the fait of heart.

This is the exact fic I was talking about...even though I was almost positive it was Koyla. Where is that fic at? I still can't find it
