Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
So, FH, do you have running water now? Because that was quite the ordeal!
As of 1700 hours today we have RUNNING WATER again!!
As it turned out, it wasn't the filter machine that was causing trouble but the pressure valve. Our neighbor's best friend used to be a plumber who still does a little work off and on and he came round to check it out. He himself couldn't fix it but he employes a plumber and send him round to fix it.
Now we have to make another appointment to have the filter cleaned cause that maintenance guy needed running water which we couldn't give him this morning.
As predicted that's looking very pride-flag like, with all the colors represented. A scratch down the exact middle of my kneecap and when I bend or stretch my knee an inch too far, it hurts.

With all the water shenanigans I forgot to mention that I got a teddybear shark from the gift shop at the Valencia Aquarium. He's grey and very soft, and his name is Bruce. Also, a wooden puzzle to build a penguin.
My sister got a beluga whale, and then we got a penguin and turtle for the two kids of her best friend. The eldest is going through a tough time at the moment. She was diagnosed with leukaemia in October so we are the designated cheerleaders to cheer her on to the finish line of her treatment (and she likes teddybears so we used that as an excuse to get our own ). Her little sister is my sister's goddaughter so we're in the family circle.
Sidenote: on Friday morning her testresults of some bloodwork was shared in the whatsapp group. They were looking very good so now you can start imagining 2 sisters standing in line at the check-in doing a little happy dance. Yeah, we got some looks. But the 1-year old in front of us thought it was amusing enough to give us a toothless grin.
Good evening, Sparkies! Hope you've all been having a fabulous Screw the Angst Wednesday! (I know Falcon Horus has, yay for getting running water back! )
Another early early day, but the larder is now fully stocked for the winter! And boy, are my feet tired. Whew!
Awww yiiisss. It is THE rivalry in Los Angeles. Not Dodgers vs Angels, not Kings vs Ducks, not even Raiders vs Rams. It's USC vs UCLA. Anyone who says differently doesn't know what the heck they're talking about.

Oh, that is such a great story and wonderful news! The healing power of teddy bears.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

And I had to be quick today when I nearly saw my eyeballs roll out of the room... that happened after I received a reply where a) the sender had neglected to take the support emailadress out of the to part (which means our ticketing service will automatically log a ticket -- I had 4 extra tickets that way, with the same issue obviously), and b) the sender mentioned he wasn't as tech-savvy as he was letting on.
However, this new project I'm working on is for a prestigious bank and I had a good laugh today.
Any normal bank for people like you and me, titles are limited to mr., mrs., miss.
The prestigious bank has titles ranging from Emperor and Empress to Knight, from Duke and Duchess to Viscount and Viscountess, Lord and Lady to Squire and Squiress. Or Doctor, Engineer, General, Lieutenant-Colonel and Archbishop. And so on...
(Sidenote: I have an uncle who is an actual client with that bank. He's just a Doctor MD. )

Cancer is just terrible. Cancer in kids? So unfair.
I'm picturing the 2 of you doing a happy dance while in line. And hey, you entertained a 1 year old. There's no better compliment!!

Oh dear. I hope you can rest for the next few days, now that you're all stocked?

Ooooh boy, then. Best of luck to you guys!! (The local rivalry here is Red Sox vs. Yankees).

Today the co-developer mentioned that apparently when it says Archbishop in the title, there's a little cross icon that goes with it.
Yeah, it ain't a bank for the lower ladders of society, if you catch my drift.
Custom icons. Talk about going for style points!

So apparently my weather app does not count drizzle as rain so when I checked it and it said it was dry outside, and I left assuming that was the case, it wasn't.
I stubbornly walked on and returned 15 minutes later completely soaked.

Well, that's just dumb that drizzle doesn't count as rain. It's slow rain, but you'll still ultimately get wet.
Hey, SK, so sorry about the USC loss. I know you wanted that win very much.
Yep. And my mutual condolences on Rhode Island. Oh well, I suppose there's always next year. *heavy sigh* So to fit my mood, I'm watching Titanic (it's on Paramount Network right now...and again at 1pm Pacific. ).
And on that note, here's this week's College Football Roundup! It was a bad week for nearly everyone as USC lost to those skanky UCLA Bruins 38-20, Tennessee got smoked by Georgia 38-10, Rhode Island lost a heartbreaker in the final minute to Townson 31-30, and in the Atlantis Cup, Air Force lost to UNLV 31-27, and Navy was the lone bright spot (NAVY FFS!?!) as they shut out East Carolina 10-0. Sooo.... on to next week! *crazy laugh*
