    I have an uncle who is a few inches taller but not by much, the rest of the family is shorter than the two of us. It's surprising really. Grandad on my mother's side was also tall -- must be his genes but he sure didn't pass them on to all of his children (4 -- 2 daughters, 2 sons). Mom was tall too but again not as tall as I am.

      My (adopted) sister is as tall as you. She has a hard time finding clothes that are long enough.

      One of my great-grandfathers was tall, so I must have gotten it from him since no one else in my family has any height whatsoever. (And I'm way too much like my dad for my real father to be the postman )

      Maybe we just were good at taking our vitamins.

            I had dinner with a bunch of former coworkers. One asked how many cats I currently have. When I said none, there was general surprise around the table as they all assumed I'd be a crazy cat lady by now.

                  Good evening... night... morning?

                  Anywho... I think I have another alternate Office Saga chapter in mind. Something to do with football... so the Falcons better win this weekend against the San Diego State Aztecs.

                    Okay I've made it to 6 weeks on the increased meds for my arthritis, and if anything it's getting worse instead of better. I'll be contacting the doctor on Monday. Grrrr. I was so hoping the meds were going to help.

                    I just posted a very cute one!! Tumblr cats don't cost a small fortune when they get sick. One of my former coworkers acknowledged this fact, as he just had to have some minor surgery for his cat and the price tag stunned him.

                        Today I almost believed to be a stonemason... or at least an apprentice stonemason.

                        Doing some yardwork and we're putting some tiles around the mailbox, instead of the sand and weeds that are currently occupying the front yard cause we didn't do grass yet -- that's next year's task probably.

                        Anywho, the mailbox is standing on top of a layer of cement but we applied that royally which came to bite us in the butt today as I had to chisel away about 10 cms wide and about 6 cms deep. I let loose my inner Michelangelo but now I have a very painful arm and a blister on my thumb. I also missed the chisel at least once and hit the side of my hand with the heavy hammer.

                        But boy, did I have fun today.

It was again a mostly good week as USC held on to beat Colorado 48-41, Tennessee beat South Carolina 41-20, Rhode Island beat Bryant 49-26, and in the Atlantis Cup, Air Force beat San Diego State 49-10, and Navy lost to South Florida 44-30. On to next week!

                            Tiles put around the mailbox. Tomorrow finish with sand which will fill the cracks in between the tiles... and drop some sand back to cover equalize the ground around the tiles.

                            My job today was hold up the parasol so my sister was in the shades cause we're still experiencing post-summer temps even though it should be early autumn-temps. We've had the hottest september apparently since temp-measurements started in the 19th century.

                            And Falcons won! Good on them!

                              I'm glad Rhode Island's college football team is doing well, because my pro teams are just dreadful. Both teams lost this weekend. The Patriots were so bad that I turned it off before the first quarter was even finished. The final score was 38-3. In 2 weeks, my teams play each other. So at least that week I am guaranteed a win by one of them. Right now, both the Patriots and the Raiders are 1-3 for the season. *sigh*
