      It's election day here in the US, which means one important thing - this time tomorrow there will no longer be political advertisements hitting us 24/7! Besides the commercials, I've been getting text messages too. All from one candidate for governor. I reply STOP each time, but then they just come from a new number. I wasn't going to vote for this person anyway, but all those texts would have turned me off!!

      And I don't even come from a battleground state. A friend in Pennsylvania has told me it is completely non-stop there.

          We've had weird weather here. Yesterday it broke records by reaching 79 F (26 C). I had to turn my air conditioning on!!

          But then it's cooled off completely. Today's high was 55 F (13 C). Talk about a weather change!!

              Yeah, that's pretty much how quickly it changed here. We had maybe 2 weeks of what could be called "autumn", then we went straight to winter.

                            I am baaaa-aaack!

                            Was planning on doing nothing today but then my best friend texted me to ask if I had any plans today. Turned out there was a fossil fair (don't know how else to call it) in her neighborhood today. You know, people selling fossils, ranging between a few thousand years old (Mammoths) to a few million (dinosaurs).

                            I was all out of cash so if it were impossible to pay by card I would be relatively safe. I had maybe 6 euro to spend so I couldn't splash on any fancy fossil (my best friend did though she bought really nice ones). However, there wasn't really anything around that carried my fancy or was relatively cheap, except for the one thing I wanted... well two things...

                            1) Mosasaurus teeth ... I have a few shark teeth but really wanted a couple of these and they were like 4 teeth for 5 euro so couldn't resist.

                            and

                            2) Arrowheads... However, as it was a fossil fair, they have a rule that no archaeological artifacts can be sold though one guy did have arrowheads for 3 euro a piece on display behind some old dinosaur bones. Provenance was Africa -- I already have a set from there. Thought it a bit expensive since they are far from rare.

                            And talking about being far from rare... shark teeth... ...there was literally a guy who was a selling a kilo of them for 55 euros. When I saw the bags, I couldn't help but snort a bit. Kids love them though. One of my first fossils was a large shark tooth (got it from my sister for my birthday), and a pre-columbian arrowhead was my first artifact.

                            All in all, it was an afternoon well spend.
