Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
Saw a news item of that rampage appear on my twitter-feed... sporting events can sometimes bring out the best in people, don't they...
Yeah...honestly, I've never understood the 'win and riot' mentality. It's so weird.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
At my family dinner last night, my 9 year old great-nephew was snot filled and coughing (and acting obnoxious, but that's another story). His parents said he was tested for covid and it's "just a cold". I'm anxiously awaiting to see if I now catch "just a cold". 24 hours later - so far, so good. *crosses fingers* He didn't hug me but he did sit next to me. I have my yearly preventative MRI scheduled for Sunday, and I can't be sick for it.

It was pandemonium in Knoxville last night. The field was stormed, the goal posts torn down. One was paraded through campus before getting tossed in the TN River. A sportscaster was reporting from the bed of a moving pickup truck. Numerous porch couches ( students neighborhood) were tossed to the street and set on fire. I never did understand that one, but its tradition. After the dust settled, not too much damage all in all, but I think TN was fined $130k for the field rush and goal posts tear down.
They knew it would happen. UT had ordered replacement goalposts the week prior Not sure what the cost is on those.
Whoa, that's wild!!
I'm with SK, but I also don't understand the 'lose and riot' thinking either. I mean, it's intense, yeah, but not worth breaking the law. *shrugs*

Crossing my fingers those bugs didn’t find their way to you and will be sending all the karmic vibes for a clear MRI!

Also my cat woke me up with a gift that made me scream. Good news- it out to be a grasshopper. Bad news- I may never sleep again. My cat is hiding. That didn’t play out the way he expected, lol. But seriously, every little twitch I think is a bug.
My cough now has an appointment with a doctor after lunch... My lungs are hellbent on taking a leave of absence from the rest of my body and I'm keeping my sister, and myself, up at night. So hopefully, he or she, can prescribe me a good, strong anti-cough syrup so that I may once again enjoy the presence of my bronchial tubes.
Will be thinking of you. Hope you are better soon & can get on wi8th your Tuesday night studying.
Doc told me that there's little she can do to make the cough go away faster. I should be patient.
Yes, young lady, I already knew that but what I need most now is a cough syrup which keeps me from waking the rest of the house at night, and maybe sleep through the night.
Luckily she gave a prescription for a good one, one that I know works great and will make sure I sleep through the night in one or two go's.
Had to wait 45 minutes though... Thought at one point they'd completely forgotten I was waiting in the waitingroom.

Ugh! Don't get me wrong, kids can be awesome, but not when they're in Mobile Petri Dish Mode. *shudders* Hope you didn't catch anything and your MRI goes on schedule and comes back with good results!

Glad you had it checked out though. My dad had the cough but after we wrangled him to the doc they confirmed he had bronchitis.
Realized yesterday that I have 3 days off next week... I totally forgot.
It wasn't until my best friend mentioned she was planning our trip that I remembered. Oopsies!
Good evening, Sparkies! Hope you've all been having an awesome Screw the Angst Wednesday!
As for me, I went on another long shopping trip to stock up for the winter. Costco finally had the giant tins of Walkers shortbread! Christmas is saved!

I'm currently watching ... or trying to watch Star Trek Enterprise for the first time, with the dude who played Michael Kenmore in SGA. I kinda like his character and Phlox (?) is fun too. Obviously, so is the dog. But whomever decided on that horrible intro tune, they should be shot.
