A balmy 45°F is still cold.

Woke up to a frozen world this morning. Reading about a lot of cyclists hitting the deck, slipping on the icy roads. I'm grateful I don't have to go out.

Oh, and caught Mallozzi tweeting about the "real" Elizabeth Weir still floating out there somewhere, in stasis.

If you think that's cold.... tomorrow the high here will be 14 F (-10 C) and the low will be 7 F (-14 C).

Oh, that git. Whatever. Fans have written a ton of different ways Elizabeth could have been brought back that are undoubtedly better than anything in his head.

EEK!! I'd be wrapped in a dozen layers and blankets for sure.

I've been trying to save money on oil by not turning the heat on. But tomorrow I will have no other choice.

OH MY GODDESS, don't say things like that... We have our heating at 21.5 degrees celsius now and we're still hiding underneath a fleeceblanket.

At my office, the temp is even up to 23.5 degrees celsius which, I have to admit, is a little too warm at times.

That is way too warm for me!! I'm a cold blooded person, I guess. It's currently 58 F (14.4 C) in my bedroom right now. I will admit I'm cold, though.

                You are certifiable insane.

Says the person who sleeps inside a sleeping bag underneath a thick winter blanket (summer too) with an extra blanket on top.

There's a running joke in our family about cold knees, which runs all the way from our great-grandmother down to us.

Actually, at my previous job the temperature would easily rise to 30 degrees inside because our offices were squeezed in the middle of two buildings so we didn't have windows, just these hatches in the ceiling which would barely bring in cool air. Everybody would be sweating and running around in a t-shirt and I'd still be having my sweater on (and long pants, not shorts). So when I would take the sweater off because it was really too hot, even for me, they would say: "Oh look, it really is too hot. M is taking her sweater off."

Tell me something I didn't already know.

For the record, I did finally turn the heat on tonight. Now it's back to a more comfortable 60 F (15.6
                  C).

Oh wow, you remind me of a former coworker. We sat across from each other and she always had her space heater on and I always had my fan on. We used to joke that we were creating thunderstorms between us. And similar to you, if I put on a sweatshirt, everyone was like "whoa, JT has a sweatshirt on!!" So we're similar, just in opposite ways.

And yeah, it's funny you mention it being in your family because running warm runs in mine on my mom's side. My mom did eventually get that elderly thing of always being cold, but that was after she started on blood thinners.

This needs to go into the next chapter of the spin-off office saga...

I can imagine John always being warm and Elizabeth always being cold. Kate and Teyla are wise enough to share body heat to keep comfortable.

Good morning, Sparkies! Happy Smutty Tuesday!

Long but productive day yesterday. And now I'll spend the next couple of days taking naps to recover. At least the weather's gotten warmer. It's currently 49 F outside.

Why should a state like North Dakota with their tiny population have the same number of senators as California or Texas with their millions? And don't get me started on the Electoral College.
The thinking behind both was to level the playing field between large states and small states, so that smaller states would have an equal voice next to the larger states. Just look at how some in big states and the news media and all today dismiss smaller states like Kansas or Nebraska as "flyover country", "hicks" and "deplorables" as though they're not worth the bother; it's been going on for years, and that's just one of the things that's fostered the deep resentment and anger at larger states and the big cities. The thinkers and writers of the Constitution feared this could happen, and sadly they've been proven right. The institutions as they were designed were a sensible idea that we obviously still need in light of the divisions of today, but as I said, it's all become subverted beyond repair at this point.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

                          I can't wait for it to warm up tomorrow. It's 8 F here at 6:30pm. That's -13.3 C.

I didn't leave the house all day.

Minus temps are as rare as snow is these days... over here anyway.

However, I'm not gonna complain to much cause minus is just toooooo cold.

Good morning, Sparkies! Happy Screw the Angst Wednesday!

It's 50 F and dumping rain at the moment; it'll tip back down into the mid-40s starting tomorrow, which is about where we should be for temperatures at this time of year. And if I never see another snowflake again this season I'll be a happy camper.

Good morning, Sparkies! Happy Fluffy Thursday!

ETA: Seems that weird error message I got when I posted yesterday has disappeared, so I guess whatever was clogging up the forum has been fixed. This time. Hopefully.
