Working hard on finishing our carport... after the shed that was the next project on the to-do list.

Need to add the gravel tomorrow, then start on digging into the garden where our new hedge is going to be. Busy, busy holiday.

So I didn’t finish 2020 with a new quarantine hobby, but I did finish 71 books that year (I only know because I tracked on Goodreads). 2021 started with a bit of reading burnout and reading progress was further impeded from a fair amount of distraction from life changes and home improvement projects. I’ve read some nonfiction, but only managed to reread fiction books I love this year until this week when I finally started- and not just finished but devoured- a new one. I read the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and I have a serious book hangover. Sooo so good and such a sheer indulgence to get lost in a book of that caliber again. Off to fill up my library holds list again.

          Busy, but productive!

Wow, that's a lot of books! Very cool!

Haven't been reading much new stuff, mostly old favorites. And writing fic. And doing projects around the house (we have new window shades to put up this weekend!). And watching the rain.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

Whoa, that's a lot of books! I'm impressed.

Hey SK, we're supposed to get tons of rain tomorrow. So I'll be watching the rain. (and keeping my phone charged because we're supposed to get lots of wind too, and wind brings power outages)

              @Zandra'sAshes
              You're on Goodreads? Me too.

Every day I'm shuffling... the carport is nearly done. Have to cover the front with gravel and then the car can be parked behind the gate instead of in front of it. It frees up the 2nd driveway. The hedge will be delivered tomorrow but we haven't had time to dig in preparation so that'll be either tomorrow or saturday. Then we need to store our things in the shed and empty the garage so my car can sleep inside. It's getting too cold and The Beast doesn't like it cold. It won't start well.

Everything hurts and I'm fairly certain that I'm overexerting my left wrist, elbow and both my shoulders.
But like WhoKnows mentions, I'll rest when I get back to work monday.

Autumn is my favorite season, however I am NOT enjoying the allergies that I've got right now. I've been taking Claritin-D every day and yet I'm still sneezing and sniffling away like crazy.

Hopefully it's not too bad where you are and the power stays on! *hugs*

Most of our wind seemed to be elsewhere last night. The lights flickered a couple of times, and there were scattered power outages in the county, though not in our corner. Should be calming down today.

Ow, that's a lot of sore muscles! But yay for having pretty hedges and a nice warm place for the car to sleep! My Mustang is the same way, it doesn't like the cold either.

The power stayed on! It did dim for about 5 seconds, but it didn't go totally out. Yay! I'm glad you didn't lose power either!!

It seems that I don't lose power when I am prepared and have my phone charged..... hmmmm...

TGIF. I was asked to contribute to an industry blog and as I tackled that today I had to wonder why it’s so hard to sound intelligent, lol.

JT2-Glad you didn’t lose power. High winds always spook me.

SK2- Hope your weekend weather is more calm than expected. What are you writing these days?

I don’t know how you made that cute little link, but I requested to follow you on Goodreads (under Susan there). I have missed out on so much reading lately, but I’m hoping to get back on track next year.

Being sore is rough, but cheers to progress! The beast will be so happy.

In that regard, I would like to thank nature for our awesome human anatomy where nature gave us an outer hull to keep everything inside from shifting around, and keeping us from falling apart.
Otherwise I'm sure I'd be missing my left wrist and elbow for sure and would have to dig through the endless pile of leaves to find them again.

Unfortunately no hedge yet. The delivery was supposed to happen today but no delivery was made so over to tomorrow (later today for me). In the meantime, our driveway is back open for business and it can hold 5 cars again so technically speaking we could do our housewarming... ...at last.

Yes. My brother hasn't lost power once since he bought a generator.
