Some of the ones I'm watching on Days of Our Lives now were older people when I watched 20 years ago. Now they're like 80 and still acting! More power to them!

I hear you. People can be stupid.

Creation doesn't tend to do that, unfortunately.

There were several questions I'd seen asked already from videos posted online from previous conventions. One person asked most of them what not to say on a first date. That made them all skip a beat and they were all like, it's been a while... Rainbow said, "Smell this? Does it smell like chlorophyll?" and also offered something to the effect of "Do you know what it feels like to trip acid?" and if she said no, the follow up was "Ask me in fifteen minutes."

Paul was best about fielding "crunchy" questions. He called for security several times. He was so freaking adorable. Someone asked him what type of animal he'd be and without skipping a beat, he said, "a wee baby turtle." He also said he has turtle gifts everywhere from convention fans, so he's been trying to make it known that along with turtles, he also likes a nice scotch.

I was thinking back on other conventions I've attended and I guess none of the ones I've attended have been good about getting the gangs together, so to speak.

Adorable. I'm so sorry I didn't get to meet Paul. He's my biggest regret. At the con I attended a fan gave Joe a bottle of scotch. They made a big production of not letting you hand anything directly to them. I found that all the actors completely ignored the "handlers" and did as they pleased. Chris Heyerdahl asked me my name and I said something like "they told us we couldn't get personalized autographs." He said, "Oh pay no attention to them. What's your name?" He was very sweet and lovely.

      Speaking of Chris. Personal story.
We were out to dinner with friends and talking about shows we watched. They told us about this great show they loved called "Hell on Wheels" and were totally blown away when we casually told them we met Chris and got his autograph. "You met the Swede!" they exclaimed. "What did he say? What was he like? OMG, you met the Swede!"

55 inches. We measured the box before we even bought it, and had maybe half an inch to spare at the top of the rear hatch opening to slide the box into the Highlander. Just made it by the skin of our teeth!

Ugh, yeah. You'd think they'd want to do something new to keep things fresh and interesting, but noooo...

Odd thing to not allow personalized autographs since most actors rather personalize than not because it's less likely a personalized autograph will go up for sale on ebay later. Or so I've heard.

I think it was a time thing. The lines, especially for Joe and David, were huge and the time was limited. I got personalized autographs from all of them anyway and Joe signed his action figure for a young friend of ours.

That's my understanding of it as well. But I think SR is right, it's a time thing as far as how Creation handles their autograph lines.

I went to this game show thing today at the local casino hosted by Erik Estrada. None of our party were called up. It was quite fun, but the seating was folded chairs. My back is now screaming at me "what the hell do you think you're doing?" Ouch. Pain in my back and spasms down my leg.

Ouch is right! Glad the event was fun, but not happy that the seating sucked that badly. *gently hugs you*

Thanks. It's quieted down to a dull ache in my back and legs, which is an improvement. After so many years of having this problem, I'm still pissed off that I can't do "normal people" things without consequence.

Anyway, here's a pic for someone to caption:

No really, I went to see Wicked and oh my goddess, I'm in love...
Alice Fearn, with whom I'm vaguely familiar when I read the information booklet, literally blew me away with her performance. She literally blew the rest of the cast completely out of the musical. What a voice...

That's so cool! I've been to a few cons and met a few people and although they generally went well, but I usually find myself regretting one thing or another about it. For example, a year or two ago I got a picture with me and Joe, but I wasn't happy with how I looked. I think my smile looked a bit creepy.

Earlier this year, I got Amy Jo Johnson's autograph. She was really nice, and it was great meeting my number 1 celebrity crush, but afterward, I remember feeling like I should have said something slightly different.

More often that not I somehow find a way to drive myself nuts with recriminations (even when I probably shouldn't) after meeting celebs. Karl Urban is for some reason the only exception.

                          On another note:

"Call me farbots, but they're gonna have our mivons on a platter if don't... starburst the draz outta here!"

"The cluster's been damaged, we're not going anywhere!"

                          "Oh, dren!"

                          "Hezmana!"

                          "Ah, son of a hasmot!"

                          "Yotz!"

"First Weir, then Samantha Carter, and now, you! It's a pity you humans die or get reassigned so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction now!"

*You got the touch! You got the poweeeeer!*

                          "Arise, Woolseyus Prime."

In my case how I reacted had a lot to do with how much of a fangirl I was. Joe made me into a blithering idiot but it did get me a hug. The rest of them were no problem and I was able to chat freely. Just as I got my autograph from Michael Shanks there was a delay in the line behind me because one of his fans had a gift that had to be explained to the handler. So there I stood just me and Daniel Jackson having a nice chat about how his day was going. When I exited the line I was mobbed by fangirls wanting to know what we talked about. LOL

I also think in our case age had a lot to do with it. Nobody thought Mr. SR or I would grab them or do anything inappropriate so they were a bit more relaxed and less on guard with us. After I got my pic with Joe a girl grabbed his behind. They said he jumped 3 feet. Totally wrong on so many levels.

Aww. Besides David Hewlet, not having David Nykl and Chris were the other two I was hoping would get added at the last minute.

That would make sense, right? Who would spend a lot of money on something with someone elses name on it?

I hate that for you. I have an auto-immune disorder and have issues with my joints so I have to be mindful of seating and invest in good office chairs. Hope it eases up soon for you.
