Carson Beckett/Paul McGillion Thunk Thread

Yep, those are the eyes I was talking about! I nailed that take the first time around when I thought of Pauly's expression and emulated it. I was still working through SGA the first time when I filmed that, but I knew that was the look the director was going for when he described it to me. Pauly's face popped right into my head and I did it and the director said, "Oh my gosh, that's perfect!" I was like, "Thanks, Carson!"

Oh yeah, and the 10/28 post has photos of him holding my 3 year old daughter, Nora. That's another story entirely...but he talked to her in his Scottish accent because she didn't really recognize him at first with his glasses on. There was about 45 seconds of "who is this guy, mom?!" until he said, "Hello, Nora, sweetie! It's me, Dr. Beckett!" It was like the light went on when she heard him and she grinned and went right into his arms when he held them out, saying, "MAMA! It's Dr. Beckett!"

Awwww! That's just too adorable! I love that accent and the idea of him being so sweet with Nora, it's just doing my heart in right now because he's just that sweet! Awww. Just awww.

Yep, I know that look all too well. It's my favorite of Carson's facial expressions aside from the big grin. I'm no actress by any means, but I am a writer and I'll say Carson has helped me out with that a little. One of my stories, it's my first time writing with a male character as one of my leads and I'm no good at that, but he's supposed to be the perfect guy for my female lead and well, let's just say I've nipped a few traits from our favorite Scottish doctor.

I've gotten tweet replies from him a few times, lols, but I'm not crazy for him. I've got my own cute Paul in a kilt to hug and squeeze (I shamelessly admit that one of the reasons I married him was for the kilt). I'd hug him now, but he's chopping jalapenos to make salsa.

I met Pauly back in October at Austin Comic Con. He's such a nice guy! Geoi and I wound up hanging out with him most of the weekend. That second quote in my sig is something he said to me. There's actually a really cool story behind that. I have a photo of him saying that to me, but I can't link to photos yet. Maybe I can ask Skeet when she gets back if she'll link to my photobucket album, if you want to see it.

Honestly I can't make myself ship Carson with anyone on the show seriously. I always transpose Perna to myself in the pics and I use Laura when I need someone in certain fanfics for him. But I can't particularly say I ship him with anyone.

Well, isn't she pretty! I do like her eyes, you did really well actually. Better than most people I see painting dolls' eyes!
