I've never posted much to this forum and not at all lately. I put this together for a Live Journal community that I belong to. I thought I'd post it here as well, since I figure this is one of the few places where I can share it with others without them thinking I'm insane. LOL

Was just visiting Livejournal and Hypercaz beat me to posting something!! I was planning to come on tonight and discuss my Scottish obsession that has developed only to have her talking about the same thing!! I will torture you all with the details anyway!!

I melt into a puddle of goo anytime I hear a Scottish accent (even the character of Davy Jones in POTC: Dead Man's Chest!!). I am going to a gourmet dinner night at a club next month because the theme that night is Scottish. I bought a loaf of bread yesterday just because the name was Scotch Loaf. I went to a whisky tasting night and my favourite was the Scottish brands! I have a Scottish Flag keyring for my house keys (even though I am Aussie with an Irish name but of purely English descent). I have a replica of the Katana used by Sean Connery in the Highlander Movie (then used by Conor McLeod of the Clan McLeod!). But of course top of the list is my obsession with a certain Scottish-born Canadian actor! When I met him in November I was constantly melting... especially whenever he would switch to the brogue! (He also gives the best hugs!!!! I know I have said that before, but it is true and bears repeating!!)

Anyway I am going to go off and drool over my pics collection for a while... I have to sort them out... That's my excuse and I sticking to it!!

Mahlia - if you want any other Scottish momentoes let me know. There are tons of shops in Edinburgh where you can get some souvenirs and the like.

I'm going to buy some stuff soon to take with me as presents when I visit my sister in Kenya - we've been invited out by lots of people for a meal and I thought a Scottish keepsake would be good.

So just PM me if you want something.

Ahh, Edinburgh. Home to so many souvenier shops its almost painful. Including that really annoying one on Princes Street that blasts out bagpipe music at like 5 million decibells and deafens you any time you walk past it.

Hopefully the stupid heat wave we're going through at the moment will fry the sound system. It's not natural all this heat.

Don't remind me... I should have been there by next week but had to cancel the holiday due to unemployment! I have a ticket that I can't use to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the 4th Aug. Paid for the whole holiday and then lost the job!!

On another note... if anyone knows of anyone in the UK who wants a ticket to gatecon UK and 4 nights accomodation in the dorms I have those tickets too. I am sure that I can come to some sort of arrangement with someone.

I am depressed now thinking about the holiday that could have been!!

Long week no see...stupid internet...

I won't be around for a while now. I have a new bike which simply needs riding and I'm going to be at my Nans for like 4 weeks and then I'm in Spain for two...and then I'm back at college.

Blimey.

So there's my excuse.

Just a little OT note... I can now sympathise with people on dialup! I exceeded my 25GB download limit this month and have been throttled back to dialup speed!! I won't get my 1.5mb/s connection back until Sunday!! Torture... Torture...
Have to blame David Hewlett and live journal for exceeding my limit... If I had of found a similar Paul page on LJ I would have been a very, very happy camper. Lets just say the DH page was something I shouldn't talk about here with everything for nearly his whole career!!

Anyway I won't be here much for the next few days as it is just too painful when you are used to ADSL...
