I've got an original idea in my head that is totally different from the one we discussed over on the CB Challenges and Fun thread. And my husband wants me to enter a contest where the grand prize is:

A paid trip to the American Christian Fiction Writers Conference in 2013
Author advice from four best-selling authors (whose names I recognize)
Story published and cover feature in an online magazine
$50 gift card to Christianbook.com
Inclusion in an eBook anthology
And highlighted on FamilyFiction as the grand prize winner.

The catch is my word limit. It's only 1,000 words, so I want a really GOOD 1,000 words!

Well, the idea I have is for a much longer story, so I was thinking of writing a 1,000 word teaser for the novel. Something that tells a complete story but foreshadows to a much larger story.

I'm better. I was able to go grocery shopping, and writing on The Silver Cord has finally picked back up! Yay! I only have six chapters before the story is complete. Hopefully, I'll be able to get them done before the weekend!

Thanks. I'm glad I'm feeling better, too!

As for TSC, I'll wait to post any more chapters until the story's complete. That way, I don't have to worry. Then, it'll be Monday, Wednesday, Friday until the final chapter posts. That way, it'll give my beta enough time to edit the chapters without overloading her.

Actually, it's the final EIGHT chapters as there are already two chapters written that have yet to be posted.
