If I didn't have so much stuff going on right now I'd totally contribute...but alas moving and starting a new job, I don't have a ton of time. But thanks for the offer!!

Oda - talking about moms treating us like little kids: My mom tries to teach me how to use a bike . OK I haven't used a bike for years but it's not that I forgot everything
My mum went crazy yesterday and I wrote everything over here. AFterwards I changed my mind and I deleted it...this is no place for such conversations.
Anyway, it's all cool now, she's calm and totally oppoiste than yesterday.
Thank you. *huggles*

Hi! Crazy-busy week, but I promise I'll get caught up by Tuesday. Until then, I just needed to ask a quick question about FedCon in Dallas.
I'm trying to plan my summer work schedule and buy my plane tickets. Do the con events start Friday morning or with the dinner/meet-and-greet thing Friday evening (meaning should I get there Friday during the day or Thursday evening)? And do you recommend leaving Sunday night (it's only a 45 minute flight, usually) and going back to work Monday morning, or take Monday off and leave in the morning? (i.e. how late do con activities go on Sunday?) Thanks for any tips anyone knows!
Back soon to check everything out! I hope you're all well!
I'd plan for the extra time, just in case of nasty surprises. Besides, you might just meet folks you don't want to part with just because you have to grab a flight to be at work the next morning. Hey! You're going to a CON! Bask in the good fortune of the opportunity!
Live a little. Spread all your goodies out on the hotel room floor and roll around in them!
Actually, it's a good idea to get there early, check in, check out the itenerary, check out the facilities, look at what's local, peruse the facility security measures (never assume you're safe because there's lots of people), plan for your rest breaks and walk/travel times. Cons are a bi-atch when you're tired and late for something you want to see.

I really can't afford to take much time off myself, so I am flying in on Friday morning and leaving on Monday noon-ish. For most cons (I'm generalizing - it depends on the showrunners ultimately), they start Friday afternoon or evening and typically end late-afternoon Sunday (although FedCon XVI in Germany had a party on Sunday evening as well as Friday and Saturday - I don't know if they're going to do that here in the states 'cause most cons in the states only have the one big party on Saturday).
My suggestion would be to log in to their forum on fedconusa.com, sign up, and ask the question there... either that or email [email protected] . Someone from their team is bound to answer in a day or two.
