Trying to get caught up! I'm glad some of you are having a great time, and sorry some aren't having as much fun. Hope you're all surviving April Fool's Day without any major pranks played on you.

fortunately only one friend fooled me. She told me that her cat was gone and I already planned making flyers to search for him. This wasn't really funny ...

Also, the guy next to me, when seeing the pic of Paul said, "Aw, man. Ben Affleck?" Never saw that resemblance before. Matthew Perry sometimes, yeah, but Ben Affleck?

Fainne, enjoy your first day at uni! Are you a student, teacher, other? And yay for no more strike! If I didn't have the bus to get to school, I'd be paying a fortune in gas money.

luckily they don't strike - at least this week. I don't even have a car so it would be VERY difficult to get there.

The CD looks amazing, Fainne! And that bit of text/explanation you wrote for it is beautiful. I love the analogy to the SGA team. This is an excellent, multi-cultural community. I still haven't thought of a song that's uniquely Carson to me. Lots of good Celtic instrumentals, but so many are more thematically Irish than Scottish, and I'm sure a Scotsman would appreciate the distinction. I'll have to try to get a letter/message typed up to send along. I'd love to be part of this somehow. lol And what does it say about my local mentality that when you mentioned putting the ensign (flag, yes?) of our countries with our names, I thought of the Texas flag before the American one. It does, culturally feel distinct, and certainly you see the Texas one more than the American flag in most places here.

Yeah... I recognized that a lot of people feel more related to their state/city than to their country. If you want me to use the Texas-flag I will. I also thought about using just my Berlin - flag than the german one. Or maybe both

Being a scientist myself, I love seeing the lab-geek or field-geek perspective represented on television, something we're seeing more with shows like CSI, Bones, and others.

Babz Chula is a Canadian actor and film producer who is held in very high regard by the acting community, and recently had a serious cancer recurrence. Many of her friends (including Paul & Jewel) are raising money to help pay for an experimental treatment to save her life.

this is a real wonderful cause. I first thought it was just a fan but now I know who Babz is I feel a bit stupid because I changed her name into mine on the picture. I really value that all the actors support Babz with that - that's heartwarming. I also donated a little money.

Cold Drugs = Godsend. Carson got a a lot of ill gals to take care for. I will be taking shots of my cold meds all day today.

Yep, they dish out the good stuff for afterwards but I have to admit that I never took any of the painkillers after the surgery. I got my wisdom teeth out but it really wasn't very painful, so I just cooled my cheek for the swelling. A friend of mine got her molars out a few days later and soon went out of her pills, so I gave her my pack as well. You should have seen her eyes at realizing I hadn't even taken ONE. I'm simply not very sensitive to pain.

.: Thanks I was actually off of the painkillers after the first day, so I must admit the experience was not as painful and drawn-out as I expected it to be. I'm not exactly sensitive to pain, but rather sensitive of the fear of pain. The pain doesn't make me panic; the fear does, and for me fear itself is much more scary than the pain.

.: I pretty much just used ice compress which helped a lot right after the surgery; then I curled up on the couch to watch some old SGA episodes

“The crew as always was fantastic and welcomed me back with open arms, as did the cast. I could tell it was back to work like old times because of the constant taunting back and forth between Hewlett, Flanigan, Momoa and myself, which makes for good times.

I know that - being scared of the fear is not very comfortable. I fear flying - though I never did. Maybe I like it but still I'm scared that I panic in the plane. Lupin from Harry Potter once said, that it is very wise to be scared of the fear itself - but it's not funny at all.
