I know, like, the days of the week, some numbers, "I," (Ich) "You," (dich) "My," (mein) "Lightening," (blitz) "War," (krieg) "Struggle," (kampf) "Can you please slow down (your speech)," (Können Sie bitte langsamer schprechen) "Sorry," ('tschuldigung...is this right?) "Please/You're Welcome," (bitte), "Thank You," (danke) "I need help," (Ich brauche [sp?] hilfe) and "You speak English?" (schprechen Sie English?)

Sorry to interrupt, but do you use the spelling of "schp" only as a graphic reminder of having to use the "sh" sound preceding the "p" or do you actually spell it like that? Because in German it is spelled "sprechen" but pronounced "shprechen".
Regarding "'tschuldigung", it's not that easy: In a more formal conversation, like when talking to your boss or colleagues you aren't friends with, you would definitely have to use "Entschuldigung", "'tschuldigung" is quite limited to informal contexts like talking to friends or family, much like "Thank you" vs. "Thanks" but a bit stricter.
Furthermore, "please" and "you're welcome" aren't synonyms. Both can be translated as "bitte", but for "you're welcome" I would recommend to say "Gern geschehen".

Not to mention many very inappropriate words and terms (I categorize blasen and zaugen amongst them because of the context the were used in...), because one of my German-speaking coworkers owns a CD called... XXX
...and lent it to me. He's a naughty, cheeky man, lol. *eyeroll* Good music, actually. I just think that Europeans are crazy now! xD

What a naughty title! I'm shocked. But it probably lets you get a hang on the pronuciation of German, which is actually a very good thing. But I sincerely hope you don't have the impression now that ALL Europeans are crazy... *offers innocent smile*

AHHH! if you didn't know what starbucks was before, you will after you get here. o my gosh. there's one on every corner and they're fabulous! and if there's one thing i'm passionate about....it's coffee

I hate coffee.

Starbucks is good for coffee and snacks. My favorite is a javachip frapaccino and a rice crispy snack. They also have juice blends which are tea and juices. I like the tangarine one.

So, this means, you can read the books while having a snack and a chat? It sounds nice.

We did miss you a lot, Oda! I'm sorry to hear the outcome of the exams didn't quite meet your expectations. That's awful, you worked so hard for this.

And Oda, there are tons of bookstores in just about every city in the US. (When we travel in my family, those are the first thing we look for to de-stress after a long day in the car.) As for aviation-specific stores, you'd have to look at a gift shop in an Air and Space Museum or something like that. Otherwise, the bulk of the bookstores around are very general and cover lots of genres/topics in their selection.
