It's only five. Only five. I am not happy.

I am not happy either. Yes, he's back... but five is not what he deserves.

I'll direct those that want to see moderate ranting to the SCB thread ... But yeah, I'm not happy with just five either.

Joe M. said in his blog that Jewel WOULD be a regular.
But Jewel certainly didn't replace Paul, now did she? I mean...let's see....he was CMO and now she's CMO. He was a regular and now she is a regular.
Oh yeah. Paul was shoved out to shove Jewel in.

There's pretty much no denying that now, no matter what JM or Gero or anyone else says. Especially with the fact that she's a regular now, confirms our suspicions all along.

Then there are the other announcements ...I don't know. I'm torn between squeeing and throwing something.

Ultimately I've decided to hold off my squee and settled with throwing ... socks, because they don't hurt anyone . I also wrote in 5-pages in my LA journal with very heavy profanity. The writings too messy to read anyway.

5 episodes, and Keller is might be a regular? How does that happen?! looks like Ill watch 5 episodes of S5 for Beckett, and only post in this thread, because honestly I feel the "fan-ness" for stargate fading with this news. I just don't like the "new atlantis" as much as I did the old one.

I agree Chezlee - the current TPTB should look to see what was right in the first three seasons, and that was something called 'excellent cast chemistry' that even made the crappy eppies good. They still don't know what it means, though.

I'm not an optimist, but it is very early in the planning stages. So ... yup.

I feel exactly the same way. I fell in love with Carson because I started watching the show because it appealed to me first. Without him I have enjoyed most of this season and with him (in Kindered & s5), I know I'll enjoy episodes even more. I'll always support both the show and Carson ... And yes, everyone involved with SCB have been exemplary.

I can't tolerate a regular cast keller and a 5 episode carson. How do we know the 5 episodes aren't for the whole season not just the first 10? He may not show up until the last half or some other layout. Tbtp are killing me. Tapping gets 2 and shanks get a big 2 parter! Sg1 is not atlantis. Keep them in the milky way.

I am seriously considering chucking atlanis in to the sea and no longer watching. I stopped after sunday and then got worried. I tuned into season 4 and thought my head would explode. Now season 5 is a huge turnoff. I love the character of Carson and Paul is wonderful but tptb taint everything. They will riun his character just like the show.

It’s impossible to write “Dr. Carson Beckett” without using the term “beloved” I’ve noticed. Anyway, yes, it’s true, Paul McGillion will be back with us for 5 episodes. It was great having him back on set in season 4 and we all look forward to seeing significantly more of him this year. “How is this possible?”you ask. “I thought he was dead!”you say. Hey, now that you mention it, he WAS dead! How does that work? Well, tune in to the last few episode of season 4 to find out.

Teehee.... so, we've gotten a boatload of snow lately, all the schools are closed today and lemme tell ya, I had a fun time driving to work this morning! With my truck broke down I only have my dad's little car which get's ZERO traction... I 'bout slid into a snowbank this morning!!

Okay, five episodes is less than I hoped for, but I'm choosing to look at it from the "It's more than you had yesterday" point of view.

So much for having my squee ready, I don't know what to think about this release. I'm so glad that Paul is going to be back. Even if it is only 5 episodes, it's still 3 more than we got this season. Though, it's so much less an he should have gotten, he deserves so much more. Then there are the other announcements ...I don't know. I'm torn between squeeing and throwing something.

Me too, except I just wanna throw something. I'm in complete shock! I don't know what to think...I wasn't expecting a set number of episodes, just having him back for however many they wanted to bring him back for...any was good for me. Just so long as he was back. More the better, but I'm not liking the leadership bull. I'm an unhappy fan. VERY unhappy fan.

I'm also FURIOUS! When I read the announcement at work (I know, absolute no-do but I couldn't wait any longer ), I was sorely tempted to throw something extremely heavy into my monitor!

I have never watched Atlantis for the character of Dr Beckett but the treatment of (all) the characters on the show, the actors and their fans, plus the general development just drove me ever further away in the past season. Carson's expected return was all that kept me sticking to Atlantis all this long but now I'm done with it. What is the superlative of "fed up"?

Thank you for the heads-up, scifan! But I think we can all agree that JM's interpretation of "significantly more" has a whole other notion than mine. Do these guys do anything besides using Beckett for advertising purposes lately and then dropping him right back into the "almost ignored" bag?
