Carson Beckett/Paul McGillion Thunk Thread

it's cool to hear about other countries and other ppls celebrations. the way i celebrate Christmas, the family goes to church then opens "santas" present (coz we know mum buys them, but it's nice to keep up playing), then family dinner out somewhere coz none of us can cook, then opening the rest of the presents.

I feel deja vu...the earupeans in the S/J ship topic(including me) explained to the americans this Santa day. So, of course we have Christmas, you can say we have two holidays. Well, on Santa day(in hungarian, we call Santa Mikulás, or Télapó(translation can be Father winter)) usually only the children get some candy and fruit in there boots, and Christmas is for bigger presents. And the little ones think that baby Jesus brings the presents on Christmas evening. We celebrate it on the 24th in the evening with a dinner. I heard that americans have lunch on 25th instead, and they also get the presents in the morning. We get the present in the evening. When I was a child, my parents sent me to my room before the dinner, placed the presents under the tree, then called for me and claimed that Jesus was here and brought the presents.

That's so interesting, you call St.Nicholaus the way we call our "main"present bringer...We don't have a Santa Claus, we usually receive our presents on the New Year's eve. And we call him (actuall translation-it sounds funny) Grandpa Cold/winter. But the fact, that we call him this way, has nothing to do with the other traditions, we still celebrate Christmas and it's a huge day here. We (as our family) don't go to church, because we're not as religious, but we celbrate it at home, where is peace and quiet.

So it seems your traditions are a bit different from ours... That's interesting

I wrote the first part of my Aerodynamics exam 95%. I am Thrilled.

And I send the package for SS today. The post office woman reasured me it will get n it's destination by Christmas.

So I 'broke up' with my guy friend that's been giving me so much emotional heartache. Haha. I told him for now I need him to leave me alone so I can deal with getting over him and not keep ending up where I was six months ago. He said he'd try his best to cut out the unnecessary contact and speaking...remember we work together, my best friend's married to his family, and we have a lot of the same friends. I think it's the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but I feel so much better now.

...and to celebrate!!! Yep, that's right, you guessed it! DIRT!

Cuz at the end Rodney and Zalekna are in the same room and Rodney is going on about how "This feels like just after we/I lost Carson" (or something along those lines... I honestly wasn't paying the closest attention).
And Zalekna goes "Well, you're not the only one who misses him."

I'm glad the writers haven't totaly forgotten about him, they finally had a character say something about missing him, and I liked that... just why the heck did it take this long to finally write that in? I will never under the logic behind TPTB reasoning

ok, since I just finished watching This Mortal Coil...

I liked that ep... and not only because Carson was mentioned several times. I think the idea was interesting... I only missed the aha-effect when the fake Atlantis was destroyed, cause that were exactly the images from Carters vision in The Seer...
and the last scene with Rodney and Zelenka... well, when Rodney says: "It's Carson all over again, and I can't have that.... yet." That tiny little sentence had me in tears...
And Zelenka: "You're not the only one who misses them."

Yes, that was a very teary end for me.

But the bits from Mallozzi's blog give me hope There was a little hint in the Thursday blog already, so I'm 90% sure, we get Carson back

JM's blog post definitely sounds like it's promising news about Carson's return. Hopefully things will actually pan out and mean great things for the character. I don't want to get too excited, but I'm definitely going to keep my fingers crossed. Yay! hehe ... At least it seems like the possibility is there. That's a large step in the right direction, to say the least!

And hey, it's not that long now until we get to see Carson back in this season! Woo hoo ...
