Unfortunately I bring some not so glad tidings - apparently the role of Scotty has gone to Simon Pegg.
Disappointing not to see Paul but at least they chose someone decent.
It's definitely too bad. Paul would have been amazing in the role. Oh well, at least he's free and clear for a full season 5 return!! Every dark cloud has a silver lining, right?
Hey all! I'm Reiko/Tiamat, new to this thread (and to SGA - I'm almost to the end of s2) and from the start Dr. Beckett has been my favourite character from the start - I literally go *squee* everytime he comes on screen!
Welcome to the thread!! I do the same thing, even now, whenever Paul shows up on screen. My family thinks I'm nuts, but there's just something about Paul that is totally squee-worthy!
I hope you enjoy your stay here! Best. Thread. Ever.
More Common Ground Caps:
Spoiler:
I can't decide which episode to cap next, any suggestions?
Cheers!

Thank you for those links! I had no idea about these guys.
Some really great photos over on their site.
Added bonus beside the Paul pics... They have the Blake 7 cast holding light sabers too!
Wonder if the Jedi Chefs have an order in Australia
oh, come on guys... splash a little in the gutter with me *lol*
that's my girl here is your reward:
Whoohooo! Now that is what I call a good reward for being in the gutter!
[SPOILERS]This definitely is a bad week for me, because I receive a very sad news today. It seems I am not allowed to apply for pilot's schollarship, because only students from 2 year of collegue are allowed (I'm 3rd year). Which is weird, since they had no limitations about this last year. This was my only chance of becoming a pilot, and now it's gone. I don't know if it's going to be the same next year, but they say I can apply for flight engineer, but I don't want to, because I want to be a pilot, NOT a flight engingeer. And besides, if I do apply for the engineer's schollarship (or funding) and actually receive it, then I don't know what I'd do, if there's no limitations for pilots next year and I couldn't apply for it, because I already got a schollarship for a flight engineer. See my problem?
I don't want to soud melodramatic. but they actually managed to destroy my dreams in one single sheet of paper.
Again, big *HUGS* Oda. I hope things work out for you and becoming a pilot.
Ooooohhh Twinny!! I have something for you and your Twinchy
This ought to make ya'll two very happy campers (beware those with dial-up.... a very large image is contained inside, open at your own risk)
Spoiler:
Print it out on legal sized paper, centered in the middle and make sure that it is 7.5 inches tall and 11.713 (to be precise) inches wide. Then trim the top and bottom and fold the end tabs around the case like a dust cover! And ta-da! I tried it myself yesterday and it looks pretty darn spiffy
Oh wow! That look's fantastic! I'm going to try printing it out and using it as the wrapper for my DVD set!

Spoiler:
Sadly I am aware of one of the season 3 episodes (but also not to mention the awesome s4 2-parter news) - aforementioned I only began watching SGA three weeks ago. I generally dislike spoilers, but when a favourite character is going to perish, I'll feel better when I know its coming - ask my friends, I take loved character deaths quite hard.
But for now, I'll look to the two-parter and enjoy the rest of the episodes I have to watch
Welcome Tiamat!
And now for an OT...
Spoiler:
Fell while walking on the treadmill Tuesday evening. Thank goodness I wasn't running like I normally do because I spained my right ankle and pulled a bunch of muscles in my right leg and throughout the right side of my body, including my arm. Didn't even hurt that bad until the next morning and unfortunately I had to work that morning and the next two days. But I have today and tomorrow off, so I've got some time to rest and actually, I don't hurt as much as I did the past few days.
The worst part was that I was having a hard time typing and ended up not getting online. So much to catch up on now!

Oh, thank you. You're so sweet. All of you are. I feel much better now, but I still don't know what I'll do or decide.

Congrats on 700 posts Oda!
Thanks for the goodies ScottishPirate!
Welcome Tiamat!

Thanks for the congrats.
And a *hug* for you. That sure sounds painful. I hope you feel better soon or I can send you my Carson clone for an hour, if you want.

Eeekk! It's so quiet around here. Looks like we need another second page bump! And I have just the thing ... hehe.
I went on a banner/sig making frenzy this afternoon, so I figured I'd share some of the better creations ... There are five, so I'll spoiler them to save some space.
Hope you enjoy!

Busy week, but ducking in to try to catch up and say hi. Hi! There, part one accomplished.
(((((((Oda)))))))!!!! I'm so sorry about the scholarship issue, honey. I don't know what kind of advice I can give you, so I'll just send support and wishes that your dream comes true some way, somehow.
Sad to hear Paul isn't going to be Scotty. He'd have been so perfect! I love Simon Pegg and think he's hilarious, but I still can't really see him as Scotty. Guess I'd have to watch the film to see. On the plus side, as you said, Paul's free for season 5 then! And yes, he was very classy in his response. Interesting that the two people they get quotes from for the article are Chris Doohan and Paul.
cshawzye, nice sigs! Very touching, some of them. Well done!
phynyxoffyre, glad you're feeling a little better! Sounds like a very painful thing to happen!
Bit of good news for me this last week. One of my professors invited me to work in her lab as a research assistant next semester! She does studies on reading comprehension from a psychology perspective. It should be interesting and will look great on my grad school applications.
I hope everyone else is doing well, and if not, that things improve soon! And thank you, as always, for the beautiful pics of Carson!
