That's all I got immediately on hand, leighanners. If you need more, let me know and I'll try to cap another few pics, for I have got at least one more idea where to look at.
One of those will do just fine. Thank you! You're super!
leighanners that's a lovely sig. I like his smile in that cap. Actually, I like his smile in every smilling cap.
Wohoo, this thread has 16000 posts!!! I contributed only a little bit to that ammount, but still, we did it together. *grouphug*

"What makes life worth living is knowing that one day you'll wake up and find the person that makes you happier than anything in the whole world. So don't ever lose hope and give up, everything turns out okay and the good guy always wins."
And yeah, there's definitely a sore spot without Beckett. The infirmary seems so lifeless and the opening credits. There's a big gaping hole!
now that I've seen the new opening credits, I know what you mean.... gosh, they could have made a completely new one. It's totally awkward to see the same credits, just replace torri with amanda and a few random scenes where paul had been... I call that unprofessionell...
and yes, welcome back cshawzye

That one doesn't speak to me so much...and I didn't say that so you would be discouraged from using that pic. I just thought it was weird we both picked the same picture. We must be on the same brain wave length. Haha!
Oh, I didn't think that you meant to dissuade me from using it. I just thought it was funny and was being a little silly.
Actually, I was looking at the picture again this morning and does anyone remember the story Chicken Little? You know, "the sky is falling?" The picture kind of reminds me of that, except maybe "the fangirls are coming"
AMEN to that!
But that you both posted about the same, even with almost the same wording (and I've heard these exact arguments on other threads as well), only confirms the strong impression of not being overly impressed with the newly added character of Keller instead of our 'right' CMO Beckett.
Having to prove herself to all the many Carson fans is like putting her into a gauntlet but then, the footprints Paul McGillion left behind are pretty hard to fill, so it's no wonder she looks kind of flat. PM's performance and interpretation of Carson Beckett has always been stellar. He's given so much to this role and was rewarded for his hard work with immensely loyal fan love. His extremely likable personality immediately touched one's heart and won one over, his sweet accent adding to the striking out presence of his screen time. It doesn't surprise me that Keller seems much more average in that department.
Great post twin! I completely agree with the entire thing. There's nothing wrong with Keller, or the idea of Keller, per se. It's just she's not Carson and she'll always be not Carson. It is unfair to her because the character could be great but she doesn't really have an even playing field to start out on. And it's nothing against the character or actress, it's just the way it is.
I know it's been said over and over that she's not replacing Carson and/or Paul but I don't really think that there is any other way to look at it. She's in the episode, on the set doing everything that Carson would have been doing. Replacing his role. Comparisons aren't going to stop. Every time I see her I'm going to think "what would Carson be like in this situation?" It would be nice if I didn't, but it's a natural reaction.
In the end, I'll be interested to see what happens with Keller when Carson comes back. What will the character look like and come off like when Carson is actually in the episodes?
I'm sitting on the edge of my seat to see what you make of that fine picture, cshawzye. You're always so gifted and creative with making banners and icons.

I definitely agree. I wish they'd revamped things like they did with SG1 a couple of times. The fact that the credits are so similar just makes the gaping hole and the replacement of Weir more irksome. It might be different if the credits had been changed up a little bit.
And thanks!

Wow...that's creepy! Haha...but she is. Carson was very 3D. And if you compare the two, Carson makes her look like she has the personality of a rock. I'm playing in PS again...can you tell? I'm gonna see if I can't come up with some goodies...anyone need anything?
Lol, did't think of it that way, but yes, she does, the personality of a rock.
I gotta say that now having seen both the cover with the pink and the one with the blue...I like the one with the pink better. It's the slight contrast with the rest of the graphics...helps it to pop.
I'm so immensely happy when this thread comes to life a bit more again! It was so awfully quiet in here lately. I really miss the old days and hope this thread won't fade into insignificance just because our beloved character was mercilessly axed.
Well, then all the more reason to keep this thread alive, we want to prove that Carson is very much wanted back and we still love and adore him.
I take it screencapping is welcome here? Think I'll have to do some over the next few days. I can at least screencap.
*does the cap chant* more caps, more caps, more caps.
Yes, we LOVE screencaps. Speaking of which, I haven't capped anything lately.... hmmmm, must fix that.

HORRAY FOR 16000 POSTS!!!!!!!!!
Okay, in response to cshawzye and twinchaosblade about the whole Keller thing (didn't feel like doing a massive multi-quote).
I completely agree with both of you. As long as she is in the same spot doing the same things she will be compared to Carson. There is just no way around it. And unfortunatly, she falls short.
It's not just the acting IMO, but it's the chemistry. She just doesn't fit with the other characters, there isn't that spark so to say. Ya know what I'm saying? Even if she was turning in a stellar acting performance (which quite frankly, JS isn't delivering in that aspect) she still wouldn't fit because she doesn't have the chemistry with the other characters.
Maybe it's from not being on the show that long, but IMO, that shouldn't matter. Like in SG1 when they introcude Dr. Lam, yes, she was taking the place of Janet, but, she had chemistry with other characters, namely, Landry, and that made her character somewhat interesting. Yes, I missed Janet but I was okay with Lam because she fit with other characters. Also, it wasn't an imediate change right after Janet died, Lam wasn't introduced right away, so that made it a little more acceptable. I really think they rushed the whole "new CMO in Atlantis" thing.
Meh, okay, I could go on and on about this subject for ages. So, I better shut up, lol
Sorry for cutting out of here last night without saying goodnight. It was three in the morning here by the time I signed off and I'd only had two hours of sleep the night before so I was in zombie mode.

Compared to Carson, Keller just seems bland right now It's sad really, that they were in such a rush to get the character on the show. I think it's really going to make it harder for people to warm up to her. If they had played her up a bit more before introducing her, it probably would have helped.
Hopefully, as this season progresses and Keller has time interact with the other characters, we'll get to see more of what she's like and the character will start to fit in better.
