I've seen even the pro-kirkers say they have a hard time shipping Sheppard because of all the kirking in s2. I doubt that's what tptb were going for. It's bad for their hero if the fans don't see him as relationship material.

My husband quit watching SGA because of Sheppard towards the end of season 2, so you aren't the only guy who hates kirking.

Yeah, it's pretty boring... and repetitive... We know he's attractive already... they don't really need to harp on it.
Which leaves me with the conclusion that they don't know what else to do with him.

I'm not surprised that there are men who find it all tiresome... I'm just surprised that they aren't more vocal about it.

I realy have no explantion for why there aren't more men who hate it, the ocasional hot chick maybe, but women have faces ( look at their face an not at their chest!)

And its realy pushing the bounds of reality! It can't be safe to sleep with an alien (wether shes human or not) risks of casual sex anyone, you'd think a Lt colonel in the U.S airforce would know that wonder what kinda wacky alien STI's are floating around

Only once: Collateral Damage, he's still new, maybe they'll keep him like Teal'c who usually has deeper, longer lasting relationships, we'll see.

Actually, Mitchell as well as Apollo have Kirked - Mitchell in Collateral Damage, Apollo in Black Market. God, I hated that episode. For some reason, Mitchell's fling didn't bother me at all. Probably because his girlfriend-of-the-week was more than just an eye candy, nowhere near as pathetic as Teer, Chaya or Mara.

I couldn't get through "Black Market" on BSG. Turned it off after 20 minutes. I love BSG, but now and then they toss in a real stinker.
