This is from an interview of Robert Cooper on MGM site:
"Some fans have queried the wisdom of having such young characters, but Cooper points to the youth of Stargate SG-1's cast when it launched. "The SG-1 cast were quite young when they started," he argues. "Michael Shanks and Amanda Tapping were both in their early twenties when they first started the show – it just was on for ten years! So I don’t think we’re doing anything different than what we’ve done before when we’ve started a new show."

If they don't even know that Tapping and Shanks were not in their early 20's when they first started, seems to me they will not know very much else.

I saw a video of David Hewlett calling SGU, 90120
Can you give the link, pls?
      Thanks
If It's true, may be we will be able to contact DH to spread the word. I know he was very disappointed by the cancellation. He's not alone along the cast to think the same.

Yeah, I read that. I couldn't believe it though. If they can't even get that right. What was I thinking? They will never understand. *sulks* Maybe they'll get the message once SGU fails miserably.

I find this. it's about R. Cooper and its new toy.

You can let your opinion about his enthusiasm and the show. So strange. I don't really understand what Cooper find in the subject.

The characters who make up Stargate Universe's team will be unqualified, imperfect, and imminently relatable, according to series co-creator Robert C. Cooper. Cooper talks about the characters and the show's pre-production progress in a new interview at MGM's official Stargate site, Stargate.MGM.com.
The team includes a number of unlikely candidates, including a Senator's daughter (Chloe Carpenter) and young, slacker computer genius (Eli Hitchcock), as well as a group of junior S.G.C. officers (story). Their leader, Colonel Everett Young, is an experienced officer in his 40s -- but the rest of the team is still wet behind the ears.
            unbelievable.

The Stargate franchise has always sought to tell stories with present-day, relatable characters going on incredible adventures. But the third series will emphasize that more than its predecessors, putting younger and less experienced men and women into the field.
it's incredible he can think it's realistic.

Yeah I read that and is it me or do the characters sound like a bunch of bimbos and a guy with half the IQ of Mckay (but still smarter then the rest) who doesnt want to get off his ass and do anything. I'm sorry but.... no wait I'm not sorry I can't relate to that lot at all.

It's ironic how the leader's name is 'Young'. Makes me laugh everytime. I still think it's a joke, maybe they're going for a comedy.

I know that sometimes(especially when you guys hear or read something about SGU) think about giving up,not because you want to but because it seem like everything's against us!!!but I'm sure that SGU will be a total failure!!!just wait and you'll see......so I still think that we still have chances!!+MOST of the fans don't know yet!so......we still have chances!

I never thought of giving up in fact I think it was on this forum that the British planned the invasion on Canada to take over Bridge Studios then make a move on the MGM nad Sci Fi offices.

Just a thought but has anyone thought of calling their local radio station and doing a shout out for Stargate Atlantis?

Sure it will take awhile before we can do that, but we just elected a new President and I think we can pull this off two.

I am in my 50's NO WAY IN HELL do I want to watch a bunch of young stupid fools dealing with problems that people like Sam and Roddney had to deal with. RIGHT!!! I remember being that stupid, don't want to go there again.
This is like the new "Trek" movie, all for the young people, and the young aren't gonna go for this. Their sci-fi world isn't this. I my opinion, add these people to the list of A-hole who cancelled Firefly.
i'm sixteen, so i'm what they consider 'the younger demographic,' and i'm not going for this either. the kids i go to school with will not go and see the star trek movie, and the will not watch SGU just because they're both labeled as 'scifi.' no one would even come and see the x-files movie with me because it 'wasn't cool.' and if they keep SGU in the same timeslot as SGA, no teenager will watch it because everyone is out on friday nights. except for me of course, who sits at home and watches the new SGA ep.

and you're right with the whole firefly thing.

I fell in love with the SGA team, I don't want another fix. SGU won't work for me because it doesn't have Sheppard or McKay. JF, DH and the others brought SGA to life. Their characters are what I love most about Atlantis. I'm nineteen and I don't get why they want to replace them with toddlers. I very much doubt they asked their target demographic. All of this is wrong on so many levels.
this is completely wrong. and i still can't believe that SGA got cancelled for this. it's not fair to us; the fans.
thanks to Pandora's_Box for the siggie!

say;I know that MANY think that waiting for the fans to know about the cancellation is the best decision(and it is!).........just don't you think that we should do something to inform them now?!well, you guys have probably thought about it earlier but we need to find a way to do so before it's too late!
