Posting Stargate/Atlantis/BSG Youtube links

Guys, we have a huge rule here, do NOT post download links.

The only exception to this is Itunes, which is a legal download as in Unbox by Amazon

I'm gonna make an executive decision here and say that YouTube links are NOT allowed

Now, what i am refering to is people that post Youtube links to episodes.

Do NOT post them here.

EVER.

This is not open for debate, it's not open for discussion.

If we change our minds, we'll let you know, but for the time being, unless you're getting the episodes off ITunes or Unbox, do not post links here.

There is a zero tolerance for this and i urge anyone that may see a 'download this episode off youtube' to report the posts to the mods so that we can remove them

Just to make sure, this is for episodes only, right? If there's some funny clip (of whatever) we want to post, we can post that, right?

Clips should be ok since that is basically the same thing used in a music video.. but even that may be up for scrutiny if someone decides to try to circumvent the system

I thought the policy already covered "Absolutely no ep download links whatsoever!" so why now a sudden need for cracking down? Do people think Youtube doesn't count? LOL!

given that we've removed a half dozen youtube links in the past couple of weeks, yeah, i thought it needed clarifyinig

and yes, i'm referring to EPISODES on youtube. Any episodes quite frankly. Anything copyrighted can't be posted here. Desperate Housewives, Lost, ER, Jerico, whatever.

Doesn't matter.

You guys know the difference between a music video made by your friend and an episode of a tv show.

i think the reason so many people including me posted you tube sg vids is you tube isn't downloadable so i think the feeling was it was ok.

Youtube links are downloadable. Anyone with a simple firefox extension like VideoDownloader could end up being able to download the files with no problem at all.
