SG1 S1-8 Favorite Episode Poll

Ok, going to try something a little different.

For those of you who've been participating in the S1-7 tournament, put those rules out of your mind for a moment, because this thread isn't even remotely similar. This is a poll, not a tournament - there are no rounds, and you only vote once, and we'll be voting favorites, not least favorites.

The rules are very simple. Pick your TWENTY (20) favorite episodes from seasons 1-8 (note that it's 1-8, not 1-7 or 1-9). Then RANK them.

Ranking is important, because different votes will be given different weight according to your ranking. You can list them best to worst, or worst to best - just make sure you say which it is.

ETA (a few other specifics):

Just in case (though it shouldn't be necessary to say): don't list the same episode more than once.

Two-part episodes are considered to be two separate episodes. That is, don't just vote for "Heroes." Vote for "Heroes, Part 1" or "Heroes, Part 2." The exception to this rule is "Children of the Gods," which is (now) considered a one-parter, as discussed in posts #8, 10, 11, 12, and 13.

Since there are no rounds, there probably won't be any rhyme or reason to when I combine the votes - it'll be after there are a lot of votes, or after a few days, or both...

Re: Two-Parters: I'm considering a two-parter to be two separate episodes (hence my vote for "Reckoning, Part 2"). In that respect, it is like the tournament, I guess.

It was two hours long the first time I watched it. AFAIK, it stayed as one episode until it started being split in half for repeats.

It is. It's the only double episode that's not split on the DVDs, actually, because it's not a two *part* episode - it's a two *hour* episode.

That's a good point about CotG, but unfortunately it's listed as two parts in GateWorld, and therefore in my database. It's kind of a programming issue.

I suppose I could make the exception for CotG, since as sueKay said, it was originally aired as a one-parter... yeah, I think I'll do that.

As for only wanting to vote for #1 - there are a bunch of traditional polls already in the season-specific forums for voting for just one episode favorite. I started this thread for people like myself who don't like being limited to just voting for a single absolute favorite, but who want to give all of our favorites some weight. It obviously isn't going to be for everybody.
