It's soar friday -- went karting which was fun but ouch on the muscles cause steering was hard work. Though, I have to admit drifting through the corners brought my inner Fast&Furious geek bubbling to the surface.

*pauses Weather Channel* Hey everybody! ! My mom and I evacuated to NC ahead of the storm last Thursday. Spent 15 hours on the road but made it in one piece. I've been in touch with my landlord and my friends who hunkered down and my area only got minor damage. Few pieces of my fence came down but no biggie. Power is still off for a lot of people but hopefully it'll be back on soon. Hoping to head home Wednesday.

All in all, everything's good! Thanks for your thoughts!

I'm still trying to figure out why my uncle went back to Florida from Ohio before the hurricane hit. I know he like to help people but it would seem to be a hard thing to do if your house on the bay is possibly floating in said bay with you in it.

I'm still trying to figure out why my uncle went back to Florida from Ohio before the hurricane hit. I know he like to help people but it would seem to be a hard thing to do if your house on the bay is possibly floating in said bay with you in it.

After losing a nail-biter I went outside and man...the sky was gorgeous tonight. It was so clear, the stars looked amazing. Then a neighboring house started a firework display. Consider me cheered up.

The verdict is still out on the friendly Facebook competition between Gainesville PD and Knoxville PD (Google it if you need a laugh and scroll through all the comments on the GPD post. It's the best thing I read all week). I hear calendars are coming though, so we all may win in the end.

Tomorrow is the Japanese Festival, which I'm looking forward to.

Until it came to light that one of the "cute" cops in the Gainesville PD photo, has a rather anti-semitic side to him. Someone dug up his facebook page and it wasn't exactly what you'd call jew-friendly.

So, I'm not sure how much longer that friendly competition will go on for.
I wouldn't start saving money for that calendar just yet.

That game was indeed a nail-biter/heartbreaker for some. My college roomie lives in Gainesville and both she and Mr. SR's entire family are huge Gator fans, but being a Southern girl I tend to favor the Vols, so I was torn.

It's a case of "Be careful what you post online cause it might come back to bite you in the behind at some point."
I'm sure he didn't think that would come back to bite him, at some point.

I have to say though that when I first saw the image, I was thinking these guys were having a lot of fun together. And the guy reminds me of a friend of mine. They could be brothers. (but only on the outside)

He's fine. He's carport was blown off but everything else is fine. His house is the only one in the area with power at the moment so he's running around helping his neighbors.
