'Heroes' creator to receive honour

Heroes creator Tim Kring has been chosen to receive the 2010 Pioneer Prize at the International Digital Emmy Awards.

Kring will be awarded the honour for launching Heroes multiplatform experience Heroes Evolution, which combines games, graphic novels and mobile formats, says The Hollywood Reporter.

"Tim Kring is a masterful storyteller and the Heroes Evolutions digital experience is the ultimate showcase for successfully integrating technology and content," said International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences president and CEO Bruce Paisner.

Kring is to be given the honour at a ceremony on April 12 at the MIPTV Media Market event in Cannes, France.

Milo Ventimiglia leads 'Crime Empire' cast

Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia has reportedly signed for a lead role in upcoming drama Criminal Empire for Dummys.

Gary Oldman, Malin Akerman, Michael Clarke Duncan and Harvey Keital have also boarded the project, reports Variety.

The film follows a "charismatic young man" (Ventimiglia) who builds an influential crime empire.

Entourage writer Cliff Dorfman is penning and directing the picture.

Filming is scheduled to begin later this month in New Orleans

A fair few tv actors shot movies between seasons, so if Heroes dose get a pick, i doubt it will have much of an effect.

Syfy’s “Stargate Universe” Casts Robert Knepper and Julie McNiven To Guest Starring Roles

New York, New York – April 1, 2010 – Syfy’s acclaimed series, Stargate Universe has cast famed actors, Robert Knepper (Heroes, Prison Break) and Julie McNiven (Supernatural, Mad Men) as guest stars to the second season of the hit series. Knepper joins the cast for a six-episode arc and will portray Simeon, a member of the Lucian Alliance. McNiven will also join the cast for a five-episode arc, portraying Ginn, a member of the Lucian Alliance. Season two of Stargate Universe premieres on Syfy fall 2010.

A comic book creator has filed a lawsuit against NBC and the "Heroes" production team claiming the carnival story arc in the fourth season was ripped off from a comic series published in 2005-06.

Jason Barnes, who created the series "Carnival of Souls" under the name Jazan Wild, is seeking $60 million and an injunction against NBC's distribution companies and "Heroes" creator Tim Kring's production company Tailwind Productions, claiming that the settings and storylines between "Carnival of Souls" and the fourth season of "Heroes" are "virtually the same," according to Comic Book Resources.

Last post in this thread was in 2010, so not many will likely read this. But aparently MSN is in talks to bring back Heroes for a 5th season as part of Micrsoft's push to bring original content (bringing back an old show is original?) to the Xbox. If it moves forward it will have a whole new cast with cameo appearences by previous character's.

I heard the rumor is now that Netflix might bring it back for a fifth season.
