I didn't mean to unleash a big discussion...
and I don't disagree with those definitions although they appear to be so similar as to be almost the same.

Slash - as far as I know (or care, which I don't really ) is non-canon m/m stuff

And the only reason I'd avoid using "slash" to describe J/I is that it is Canon. Praise be - finally!

We're having a discussion on h2g2 about if it is pervy for straight women to find the m/m stuff in Torchwood rather nice to watch. I guess that depends on your definition of pervy.

As for me: I know a fair few gay guys in RL and get a bit fed up with not seeing any on TV. Now, when the writers stop using it to try to shock us, I'll be a very happy bunny.

And enjoying it in a pervy way

      It is a discussion thread.

Anyway I get the feeling most fans are happy slashing them elsewhere in humours ways... like the Thunk threads, it is refreshing to be able to post caps of men kissing without someone coming along and cringing.

OK I don't have any caps yet. Mine are all of Jack/The Doctor kissing.

I'm looking forward to pouring scorn on people shipping Ianto/Gwen (for example) and shouting very loudly about it not being Canon!

              nah, on Ask
              it's called "Am I a perv?"

and, of course, the Drool thread loved it!

Personally I don't think we're pervs for wanting to see a little M/M

to me slash is any m/m pairing whether it's real on the show or not.

                    back on topic

On a side note, a close friend of mine that I recently got into TW had the best description for it ever... "It's like The X-Files crossed with Queer as Folk! It's BRILLIANT!!"

I am with you on that, the debate and the definition.

Oh and I love that, the gentle hand on his shoulder, trying not to spook him!
