That to me showed an inconsistency. If their armor is impervious to energy (eve n shields), then how can they be beamed?

I think the theory behind the ring/beam is similar to the Stargate in which particles of a matter is broken down and then regenerated. If the super soldiers could not be beamed I don't think they could go through the Stargate either.

PDL: [...] ) I really like Evolution Part 2 because of the Burke character and O’Neill back story.

Yeah Burke was a cool character "what's with the guy from Evil Dead?" and it was nice to learn a little more about O'Neill's past. Another one for the 'shame we never saw them again' list I guess.

there is a first for everything...never thought i would but yes, this episode got me to write a post here ;-)
i know i am maybe 5 years late but i just recently started watching stargate (for the first time...) and still have to catch up with the episodes.
lots of stuff ist still new to me so forgive me if i am aksing old/boring questions.

i enjoyed both evolution 1 and 2 and liked that there were 2 totaly different stories going on and a lot of emotional stuff between jack and burke.
but...i was - at least a little - disappointed about the torturing.
i mean both daniel and lee get tortured. brutally. and then there is almost no blood? no bruises? no gashes? hello?
after such an ordeal you would assume the body to be a bloody bruised mess.
but there was only a tiny bit of blood on daniel`s face.
no blood on their (remarkably white) shirts, nor daniel`s pants.
and his face...well...he looked more like a guy who has been on a 2-day-drinking binge...not like a guy who went through hell.
why do the main characters never look a little more roughed up? all the side characters and all the bad guys always look worse, have wounds and blood everywhere. i stumbled about that not only in this episode but lots of episodes in both stargate and atlantis so this no-blood-thing is not a "one and only" i guess.

btw: this long haired supposed-to-be-dead rebel was creepy as was this thing inside the black armor *bwah*

Well...this and Evolution 1 go down in my absolute favorite, could watch a million times over, episodes. A fun adventure. It felt like old times, though everyone wasn't together the whole time. And, IMHO...any episode that includes Jacob and Bra'tac is worth watching till you go blind. Love those guys!

And, by the by, I really never see any hesitation or irritation in Jack's behavior toward going after Daniel. I think he was worried and more than willing to go after him, but also worried about the threat Sam/Teal'c were going to have to work toward solving.

Good two-parter. Not my favorite, not by a country mile, but I do echo some of Noxbait's sentiment. It's a solid, old-school adventure story, with some truly great moments. Jacob AND Bra'tac! Oh hell yes!
If you've seen a Jeff O'Connor or a JeffZero or a Jeff Zero or a JeffZeroConnor elsewhere on the net, there's a considerable chance it's me.

One of the best episodes ever! Even though they were split up it still felt like a good old team eppy. Add Bra'tak and Jacob and Daniel's arms and ding ding we have a winner!

Cool episode, loved the whole plotlines. The contrast between the jungle and Anubis' lair was pretty funny too.

I liked this double episode of fun, it really helps get the season back in gear (some of the previous episodes just seemed like they were trying to fill the year out). The disintegration of the walking dead was the best! However, I was never a real big fan of the 'super soldier', the idea itself is good but not how they worked it out.

Anyway I remember when this first aired it was very frustrating having to wait for months for the conclusion.

Good ep but one thing reaaaally annoyed me, why did salmak take off the suit?!? I mean he'd be impervious to weapons plus he'd maintain a tactical advantage if they run into any enemy PLUS they get to keep the suit for further study AND further missions (ie they effectively get their own supersoldier!!!! It's just retarded and I can't think of even one good reason he would have taken it off in the first place... So annoying.

Whew.......what an episode(s) this was...........but now they are faced with an army of thousands of the creatures made by Anubis......what could be next? Or how do they get rid of them?!
Under such circumstances the system lords should have a change of heart and ally together with the Earth and everyone else against him. Or else........turn the Replicators on Anubis and his creatures. But I can imagine the replicators would replicate the power of the super soldiers, so that's no solution.........
