I just finished the encore broadcast of "The Wolf and the Lion." A re-watch didn't dim the bristling energy in this episode.
- Robert being too fat to fit in his armor. It definitely hearkens all the way back to "Winter is Coming" when Ned asks Catelyn, "How did he get so fat?"
- Ser Jorah playing both sides against the middle. I remember from the book that there was talk from Varys or some other lord about where his true loyalties are. The way Iain Glen's performance has been so far, I would never have known what's really afoot unless Varys told the council that Jorah had been sending them information.
- The design of the Eyrie. I really like that the dungeons aren't walled but are on the edge of a daunting fall. Summary executions there would be cleaner and unless the prisoner can fly, death is certain.
- Baelish & Varys facing off in their little duel of intrigues. So just who is this necrophiliac lord?
- I mentioned this before but it's worthy of another mention: The dragon skull. I want more.
- The costumes continue to impress me, especially at the tourney.
- The House Baratheon motto: "Ours is the fury." Though I will always love the direwolf emblem of House Stark, "Ours is the fury" is damn badass.
