I did (follow you I guess = add?)

I used to be active on that app when Origins aired but the only reason I came back was for the comics. SG:C hasn't put any effort that's true. I'm supposed to get my *founding member package* whatever that is for renewing my subsc.

Ohh I meant to add me, so you can see what I am doing there. A few people added me yesterday, but I haven't seen an Unas amongst them. I don't know your username there either. :'(

I have never received my digital copy of Catherine, so I haven't got too much expectations. The whole site feels so abadonned, like no management, no moderators, nothing. They have just setup some weekly articles series then they left the place alone. I wouldn't be surprised if it would be closed down shortly as this whole management style is suspicious and ridiculous.

      So back to the Stargate.

I would like to see a recurring civil setting, where our heroes could meet a galaxy wide tour company as more and more people are looking for adventure. This company (probably not based on Earth) would offer some escorted tours through the stargates into different worlds. Then they would make some trouble (like visiting some ruins) or they would enter into dangerous world, so they ask help from our heroes to fix or to rescue the people. I just imagined how funny it would be to see a brochure with planets and gate addresses. Then this recurring storyline could be turned into anything else : different races, different groups, different needs. Maybe one of the new main or recurring character could come from this "planet" if he or she would be an offworld Earth citizen. Maybe the whole tour company would have some dark secrets as they could be an operative to infiltrate different worlds for their goverment. So they would play a role similar to NID, but with a civilian twist.

Well, from what I can gather, it is the 3 months extra on your paid year, a founding member patch and a founding member title as opposed to the Stargate Command All-Access - Airman/Captain/General/Ascended.

Founding members are only paying members so if you were there from the start but couldn't "found", you continue to be a third class passenger.

I'll be perfectly honest with you, I spent 1 minute or two looking for an ''Add friend button'' and gave up. If your platform is so crappy that it's not intuitive at all, I won't waste any more time on it. I'm also only there only for the comics and the occasional episodes I want to see, so I'll be gone soon enough again.

Chaka-ZO: I couldn't find you with the search button. What a disgrace is this Stargate : Command. The whole app is a tragedy. It works completly differently on PC, tablet and mobile. It doubles up notifications, sometimes it let me know about my OWN posts... And I could even like my OWN posts?! Weird, amateurish, unprofessional.

FH: You are right about the SG:C. They should provide something to entertain the fans daily. But seriously, why would anyone visit the site? For 6 comics which can be read in a day? There should be daily quizes (like episode scenes, quotes, pictures), just to convince people to visit this app... No news about any future projects, nothing. We need the borrow the "shame bell" from Game of Thrones.

Honestly the whole "founding member" thing is just a lie. I doubt they will really do. And it is sad that people are more interested in a badge or a T-shirt instead of raising voice for the non-All-Access members. Or just to post some quality posts once or twice a week which can elevate and entertain the local, still believer fandom there before they just give up and leave this cursed platform.

I'll look for you later... and you should look for a "Follow" button, which is the Add-friend button you would otherwise be looking for. It's a little like twitter and instagram. You follow people as opposed to "friend them" like on livejournal, though the message in the notifications will say "... added you as friend" and from there you can also click on their icon and then follow back, at which point the message in your notifications will change to "you are now friends".

Did you search on the profiles page of the message feed because that search won't otherwise work. It's not ideal, I admit.

And to think TopFan has also created the DC Universe app/website. I don't know, but they better step up their game cause Disney/Marvel won't be as forgiving if it doesn't work as advertised.

They do have to up their game, and fast... and not just for all-access but for everyone. Even the free stuff needs to be taken care of because right now they are the laughing stock of the stargate community. They score really low on the satisfaction scale, even people who are all-access are less than pleased (and it's not just you).

I think it'll be a while before they get that "founding member" thing in order, but it says as much in the FAQ that it will be delivered later in the year (probably halfway 2019 or something in their logic). I do think they'll go through with it.... eventually... but not just yet.

And there are indeed a whole of people who re-enlisted cause of the promise of the patch, so their ploy certainly worked to keep people coming back, but as far as sticking up for non-access members.... Only a tiny, microscopic fraction of the people who have an account venture outside the episode part of the website/app. They don't know. They simply don't know, and most likely don't care either. And that's a shame.

Accounts are made up of 95% airmen, and it's ridiculously easy to get from Airman to Captain in rank (unlike ranking up here) so 3/4 of the accounts simply doesn't care for anything but the streaming part of the app, and that includes not knowing about geo-restrictions.

Plus, like I said, 95% of the accounts is located within the USA. They don't have to rush international expansion cause they are not there anymore or just not present at all. They have their primary audience. The rest is just baggage.

It is a shame that people can be bribed and fooled so easily. Honestly it would cost them more to send out the gifts. 20 dollars for the lovely service, then they will spend 1-2 dollars of posting the gifts.

It could be slotted into any part of SG canon since it's meant to be top secret and off the book (even more so than the stargate already is).

That's just something I think might be interesting although maybe not very well thought out yet. What about you guys? What would you like too see?
Of course I want closure for SGU. But that's the past.
Thinking forward, how about minisodes about the NID raids, also maybe have clips of different SG teams on patrol, Jaffa battle scenes, wraith vs ancient battle scenes, Goa'uld vs replicator. Compared to Star Trek for example there's very little Stargate fan fiction. Even Predator's got some really decent fan based YouTube shorts.

Maybe not the best idea, but for me, it'd be the best to go back to the original movie and have a new TV series set about 5 years after the events in the original movie. For story purposes, I'd have Daniel and his wife actually be parents this time around and I would incorporate some story elements from the original spin-off (Stargate SG-1).

I would still have the four races thing going on: Ancients, the Nox, Asgard and the Furlings, except I would have the four races actually participate in the show and actually have them be Earth's allies. Also, the different groups of the four races would actually be involved in the fight against the Goa'uld. Instead of Teal'c shooting Sha're in order to save Daniel's life (correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a log time since I've watched any of the three existing shows at this point,so my memory of it is fuzzy), I'd have Daniel and the entire SG-1 team face against a Goa'uld-controlled Sha're later on and it'd be Daniel's task to get his wife to start resisting the mind control. This would be successful, SG-1 would end up actually saving Sha're with the help of the Tok'ra, but with the price: Daniel's and Share's children would be kidnapped by the Goa'uld controlled Jaffa and turned into new System Lords, thus providing the show with new story elements, while keeping closeness and resemblance to the original show and movie. The episode where O'Neill makes that device that makes the Stargate dial an 8-chevron address would happen later in the series, preferably in the 7th season, somewhere before the finale of that season (which would serve as a lead-in to the finale itself), except the group of Asgards he would meet would be a different one, since SG-1 and the SGC would meet a group of Asgards that is stationed somewhere in the Milky Way. Also, the series would explore more about the four races and their connection to the Stargate itself, eventually making the Stargate mythology more organized and complete.

That's what I would base my sequel(s) on. Instead of just gathering tech, allies, weapons etc., I think it would be better if SG-1 would've actually been able to learn the Stargate mythology along the way and find their way out of any problem, issue or situation in lots of other ways, instead of just Sam making Jack scratch his head trying to understand what the **** are Sam and Daniel saying. Sha're would be a recurring character, even if she would need to be re-cast down the line.

Would do a similar thing for Atlantis and Universe, but let's leave that for another thread and another time.

First of all, Star Trek has double the amount of shows than Stargate, so obviously the fanfic section will not compare, but there's lots of stargate fanfic out there. Many thousands and counting in every rating possible and every pairing and character possible.

So basically a reboot which begs the question since your idea does incorporate "some" SG-1. Would your idea ignore the TV-verse that exists now, or would it run parallell in a different universe and therefore make it an alternate universe instead?

                            Above I linked some very well done fan fiction from Predator. PREDATOR of all the movie series, not a whole lot of shows in that universe, yet some really high end fan fiction. I also posted a really well done Firefly fan fiction episode. Star Trek has some cheap fan fics they also have whole movies done with actors from the various series. Take a look at this one;

Then look at the whole Star trek Phase Two series which is even considered cannon.

I've poured over YouTube and the web for any fan fiction the best I could find for Stargate's fan fiction consisted of clip art or at best a few out of shape guys running around their back yards with costumes that would look fake on a Wormhole Xtreme set.
I have watched the SGU "Kino"-sodes, and the Daniel Jackson instructional videos those are pretty well done.

Ah, if it's a really good video fic you're looking for, those are rare for stargate indeed.

However, the French stargate fans (of whom I know quite a few) made an incredible fanfilm worth watching. I'll see if I can find the link later (when I'm at home).

My idea would not ignore the already-existing TV-verse. Some events would just take place either earlier or later in the series and would end up rising the stakes. The only bigger change would be O'Neill NOT being affected by the ancient device again in "Lost City" as the clues to the location of the Ancient repository in Antarctica would be found by Jack's partial notes, written in Ancient back when he was still affected by the ancient device the first time around. The story would still see Jack, Sam and Daniel going to the same planet they went to in the actual episode where Jack got re-affected by the device, however, Daniel and Sam would eventually be able to put 2 &2 together, like always thanks to some writings on some walls and a non-working version of the device. However, Jack would still be re-affected by the device later on, which would lead to a non-time-travel storyline in the S8 finale. Then the episode where Thor keeps him in a stasis pod would come later. The Ori storyline would also take place later, and Vala, Mitchell, Landry... they all would be still there, with the same stories they were involved in. Replicators storyline in SG-1 would also be the same, of course, with SG-1 working closely with the 4 races. However, since SG-1 would still turn 10 and SyFy going "5 years, no extension and you can't move the show elsewhere, you're cancelled!", I'm guessing that the idea of the producers re-naming the show would actually be necessary.

Basically, why create a parallel universe if we already have a main one that we love, just UPGRADED?
