After watching the season finales in a countdown to unending, full circle and threads got me thinking. This is what I would do for a third movie.

**This idea is based on the idea that AoT involves some sort of Merlin's device technology being used in our galaxy, leaving us believing that all the ancients were cancelled out. I have nothing to back this up, but it's required for this story**

The movie starts with Oma Desala coming through Earth's Gate (being a former ancient, she would have the ability to disarm the iris). She comes through looking for Daniel and SG-1's help. It is revealed that there was a mass descension just before the Merlin device went off in AoT. This was a collective efort that caused everyone to descend, even those not actively involved such as Oma. Oma needs SG-1 to find and stop Anubis, who was also descended into human/goa'uld form. SG-1 goes to find Anubis and also seek out the othe rformer Ascended beings, who are building a city somewhere to live until they are prepared to ascend again.
Anubis's plan is to quickly evolve himself to ascend again (using technology such as seen in "Protoype"). Once ascended, he won't have any other beings to contest him and he can rule the galaxy as he sees fit.
Seeing all this as an opportunity, Teal'c uses Anubis's return and the hunt to take him down to try to unite all Jaffa again. In the end Daniel needs to rush to Atlantis to use the ascension machine (SGA's 'Tao of Rodney') in order to rival Anubis and stop him. Somehow Daniel defeats Anubis once and for all, finally fulfilling the promise/threat he made in Full Circle.

Only real loose end I can think of concerns Langara. Last we heard the Ori had taken it but we didn't hear anything after that.

Yea and it would be nice to see Jonas again. We never found out what happened to him after the Ori took over Langara.

While I would love to find out the fate of our boy Jonas, I won't be holding my breath. Sadly, I think that little bit about Langara's fate was all we'll ever really get.

I like it. Too bad some of the writers (I forget which in particular) hates Oma Desala, who I happen to love, at least the original idea of her. So this works for me!

I think the 3rd movie should be an exploration episode. Maybe the Expedition finds an experimental GateShip 2.0 (PuddleJumper 2.0). Something under development just before the Wraith became a problem, and got pushed into the background when the Lanteans had to be focus on building Warships instead of Science Vessels.

Some throwaway statement is made in the middle of an Atlantis episode about how hard of a time McKay, Zelenka, and Carter are having just powering it up since the Atlantis team has to basically finish building this machine rather than repair something that's broken.

The movie begins on Atlantis in a grand ship bay science/construction bay. McKay & Zelenka are finishing the up on the ship with Carter, Sheppard, and Daniel watching the ship being raised (It's explained that Daniel was called in to help with some translations). While the PJ 2.0 looks shinny and new, and ready for its maiden voyage, it is still very glitchy.

After several ATA-gifted team members have no luck fully powering the systems, Sheppard steps in, and while he is able to power it up, even he has a hard time controlling it.

Carter decides to bring in the only human being she knows that may have a better handle on operating Ancient tech than Sheppard, ! In comes the Major General escorted by the remainder of SG-1 (Teal'c, Cam, and Vala).

After pleasantries are exchanged, all of the SG-1 Alum board the ship, monitoring the various systems along with McKay & Zelenka. After Jack starts to concentrate the ship comes to life (shakily). McKay exclaims that there is a line of code that seems to have activated, and he isn't sure what it's purpose is. He and Zelenka head over to a human computer console connected to some port on the side of the ship to further examine the function of this code.

The engines suddenly begin to power up, and the doors all seal, including the external ports that were opened and connected to computers. Daniel says something like, "Jack, what are you doing?" and Jack responds, "It isn't me..." The bay doors open, and they dart out leaving a wake of knocked over, and exploding computers & machinery (nothing too serious though). After leaving the planet's atmosphere, they jump into something that resembles hyperspace. After a brief time they emerge from the hyperspace-ish field only to descend onto a planet, straight into a super volcano. As all of Sg-1 is desperately trying to get the ship to stop before crashing, we see that there is a gate on the bottom of the volcano, and it is dialing its EIGHTH chevron. Just before hitting the gate, the ship elaborately folds its sides/thruster in (far more complexly than the simple pod retraction of the standard PJs). The ship emerges on the other side out of a space gate over a (land) city that appears to be on the tech level of the Nox, Asgard, and Ancients.

Carter discovers that this flight plan was preprogrammed into the ship's core operating system, and was the activated code that McKay had noticed.

The middle of the film hints that these people MAY be the Furlings, but nothing's for sure yet. SG-1 makes contact with them, and they are very hospitable. The Aliens mention that they are currently under siege by a race who's tech closely resembles that of the Wraith, only it's far more advanced. The team believes that the aggressors are in fact the Wraith, or at least a race that also descended from the iratis bug, so they start pitching in to help defend the city. The only problem is, Daniel begins to suspect that the race that SG-1 is helping may be far more dangerous to the universe than the Wraith-like beings that they're at war with.....

                        First movie: Ancients and Ori
                        Second movie : Goa'uld and Tok'Ra

Third movie should be about the Replicators: Fifth, Reese, Janus,Oberoth, Niam, RepliWeir, RepliCarter, RepliCarson, SG-1, Atlantis, Asuran, Ida-galaxy and Asgards. It would be a nice cross-over to say good-bye for the Asgards and the Replicators.
"I was hoping for another day. Looks like we just got a whole lot more than that. Let's not waste it."

"Never underestimate your audience. They're generally sensitive, intelligent people who respond positively to quality entertainment."

"Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence, has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all."

I was wondering, what would you like to see in the third film, if and when it is made? Any story ideas? Old or new enemies? New technology/ships?
Thinking about it there are a number of ways of having a third movie.

                          1. Although Baal 'died' in the penultimate episode the 2nd movie includes him so he gives potential. One assumes that was one of Baal's clones that took over Adria

                          2. The Lucian Alliance

                          3. The Trust

                          4. The Gaffa Nation still needs putting on a proper footing. After Gerak died it did not seem to have a firm idea of what structure it was. Mind you there is enough in that for an entire series.

                                More? We haven't seen any.

I'm not sure I'd want to see the Furlings, after all this time they'd have to think of a trully mind blowing way to introduce them, anything less and it would cause disappointment imo...
