His comments on his blog, taken as directly or indirectly as you want to about us being 'shrill and ill-informed lemmings' for getting angry/upset/floored etc about all these spoilers flying around everywhere and having the guts to share in voicing our thoughts and our feeling on the matter to those who also are as shocked and appalled as we are, piss me off even more than I was before!

Gosh I'm so damn sorry that I'm spitting out red fire at the shocking late breaking news in which I have absolutely no desire to see happen period, at changes that was never really needed to begin with. So sorry that I'm and others like me are voicing out our hypothetical reasons what might have happened behind the scenes to have caused this change due to the fact that what little we have to go on is not good enough to fully answer all our questions. Hence welcome speculation and theories and whatnot. I'm so sorry to note that it's seems like it's okay for you to voice out your fustrations and dish out your witty sarcasm on us on your blog to the world without grief, while we being in YOUR fandom get somehow bellittled and called names by you for doing EXACTLY the same thing.

It isn't shippers who are upset, its many fans who love characters that the writers think they can just dump at any time without consequences. The least "they" could do would be to say something along the likes of, "We regret that ________ is leaving our show in season ____. We wish him/her well in future endeavors. They don't even have to give a reason because sometimes they really can't explain the "why" for contractual reasons, but at least be NICE about it. Instead we get producers making cracks about us and how stupid we are. Well, we can be "stoopid" right over to another channel if that's the way they think of us.

You're perfectly entitled to your opinion and I respect that. But like Leelakin said, this is a pro-lemmings thread , you're more than welcome to start your own anti-lemmings thread if the mods let you I'm sure.

I personally see nothing wrong in jumping the gun and assuming the worst. Let's look at their SGA track record (let's not even go there with SG-1):
* Ford's not gonna be written off, he's becoming a recurring character - He got 3 episodes, two of which were part of a two-parter. The ending is ambiguous but if he's never heard from again (which he hasn't been for a season and a half now), he's most probably dead.
* Grodin randomly died
* Bates just disappeared after, what, breaking his leg or something?
* Noooooo! Carson's not dying! Not at all! Nobody really dies on Atlantis - What happens? He goes "KABOOM" and his ghost (in what might be a dream) pays Rodney a visit

"Elizabeth's gonna be returning in season 4 (it's a good thing! Because she'll actually return!). She's going to have a recurring role (the same as Ford and Carson)."

This could mean everything from "She'll still get a few good lines now and then to show that we can actually write for female characters... somewhat" to "She's gonna be crushed by an Asuran gateship a la Grand Theft Atlantis the next time the Asurans attack!".

And with their track record, the scales are tipped in favour of Grand Theft Atlantis. So excuse me for assuming the worst.
