Seems like the network moved his time slot, then put him on hiatus, then didn't put him back on the schedule.

(A.K.A. the author got too busy with real life to continue his fan fiction. Commendable.)

            16x10 "In Purgatory's Shadow" (Part 1 of 2)
Synopsis: Jonas Quinn enlists Major Eaton's assistance for a covert mission to Aschae to help lay down the path for an Allied invasion of the Confederation from within.
            Spoiler:
((45 second recap of "Hyperion," "Ashes to Ashes," and "Labyrinth"))

It's never a dull moment at the ISGC, and Danielle Talbot watches nervously as SG-13 and SG-26 retreat under heavy fire from an engagement on a world recently conquered by the Aschen. Although the Aschen themselves are not match for Earth in ground combat, their ongoing support from various Der'kal warlords trying to stake out their own kingdoms gives them a deadly fighting force. And as Talbot is learning, it's going to take more than a handful of offworld teams to break the Confederation's hold on their newest batch of acquisitions. With rebuilding across the globe finally kicking off, factories are beginning to produce much-needed war material such as tanks and fighters. But until they can roll out as much as they did before the planet's fall to the enemy, it's going to be tough going with just infantry.

Standing nearby, SG-1 watches while Dr. Caroline Lam loads two injured soldiers onto stretchers, her medical team doing its best to maneuver crash carts around the incoming personnel. As Der'kal plasma blasts pelt at them through the still-active stargate, SG-13's leader shouts for the iris to be closed, confirming that all their people have made it back. The metal barrier seals just in time, and dozens of thuds sound warning of just how close they came to having alien warriors rushing into the complex. Shaking her head, Talbot remarks that this is the third mission in a row that has been repelled by Confederation forces, and they can't afford these setbacks. But it seems like every Aschen-conquered planet they dial either has Der'kal waiting for them or an atmosphere already laced with some deadly toxin. There doesn't seem to be a way to win this.

Just as the two SG teams are leaving the gate room, though, everyone freezes. The stargate is suddenly active again, and they're all dreading yet another batch of soldiers retreating under heavy fire. Thankfully, the only thing that comes through the wormhole is an Alliance IDC, and everyone heaves a collective sigh of relief that it's not more of the same. The beleaguered defense team stands down and the iris slides open while Talbot informs their visitor that the way is clear. And a moment later, Jonas Quinn arrives, dressed in his Intelligence uniform and sporting his trademark smile. Waving up at the control room, he says he has something they'll all want to hear.

Shortly after, Talbot and SG-1 have led Jonas to one of the underground briefing rooms, one he humorlessly recognizes as the very chamber Robert Makepeace locked them all in when he tried to takeover the ISGC ("The Parting of Ways, Part 2"). When they're all seated, Mitchell asks what it was they're all gathered together for, and Jonas explains that he's not so much here alone, but on behalf of the Alliance High Council. In the weeks since Intelligence purged itself of Goa'uld infiltration ("Convictions"), the agency has been working on getting their efforts back on track in a big way. And, finally, they've put together a plan that has the full backing of their superiors, one that they hope will put a serious dent in the Aschen's efforts. Possibly, even bring about an end to this conflict once and for all.

Pulling a data crystal out of his pocket, he connects it to a nearby laptop and turns on its attached projector. An image of the entire Milky Way lights up, then slowly begins to pan toward one particular section while color-coded splotches identify different power blocs. Motioning at a large red section surrounded by blue, Jonas says that this is a representation of the Aschen Confederation as it exists inside otherwise Alliance-dominated space. As everyone's aware, this area has been a hotspot of activity since the Aschen joined with the Der'kal, and the border fighting has only intensified in recent months. Despite the technological superiority of the combined Alliance forces, though, they took such severe losses holding out against the alien armada that they have been unable to break through and attack any major enemy worlds. And as they all remember, their last push toward the Confederation capital of Aschae ended in complete disaster ("Hyperion"). To put it simply, they can win every battle, but they just can't win the war.

The single-greatest reason for their inability to just jump in and crush the Aschen, of course, is their inheritance of quite a few interdictor ships from the Der'kal. They've placed them at key positions all around their territory, and Alliance fleets are yanked out of hyperspace into regions either choked with mines or guarded by packs of enemy battlecruisers. Because of this defensive arrangement, the Confederation fleet isn't needed anywhere near Aschae, and is spread out along the outer border to keep their enemies from attacking recently conquered worlds needed for mining or farming operations. Given the slow speeds of Aschen hyperdrives, the outlying fleets would never be able to return home in time should an attack occur, and the war could end then and there. All it requires is someone open the way in.

Confused, Daniel asks what "way" he's talking about, and Jonas taps the laptop to switch to a new screen, one with a the unmistakable image of a Venii FTL relay station. Looking over the hyperspace coordinates given just below, Vala says that she recognizes this particular relay, seeing as they were all there a few months ago. This is the station within Confederation space that the Hyperion scouted and that the the Aschen destroyed upon its discovery. But Jonas has an update on that; although all attempts to transit back to that particular relay have been unsuccessful since that mission, leading them all to assume it was obliterated, new intelligence suggests otherwise. One of their agents already embedded behind enemy lines has confirmed that it's still there, which leaves only one explanation. Somehow, the enemy has found a way to jam the subspace signal between relays, the command that fires up the transporter array. If they can disable the jamming, they can jump in a fleet and be done with the Aschen for good.

To pull it off, though, the Alliance has decided to pull from the very best the galaxy has to offer; SG-1. That's why Jonas was selected for the mission, given his skills as a scientist and agent, and why the High Council has authorized him to recruit his teammate from outside of Intelligence and direct from Earth. They want to limit the team to just two members, both to cut down on the chances liability and to stand out as little as possible. In line with that idea, Jonas reveals that he wants Maj. Eaton to come with him, reasoning that as the two SG-1 members least known but still having a wealth of useful knowledge, their odds of being recognized are quite low. Rebbecca seems interested enough, but Talbot insists on clearing this with her superiors before allowing any of it to go forward.

A day later, Mitchell watches while a Tok'ra Intelligence agent prepares Eaton for her apparently-approved mission, cutting and styling her hair in the manner appropriate for the Confederation scientist she is to impersonate. Cameron notes how much fun Rebbecca's going to have for the next few days, only wearing grey and speaking completely without emotion. Eaton's already dreading the challenge, but she's glad the United Nations signed off on her going. This is important, and if she can help end this war, she's happy to help. Then the Tok'ra interrupts for a moment, holding up two minuscule devices and explaining that they are "aural intensifiers." When inserted in the ear just above the eardrum, they will have the effect of amplifying any noise, providing the uncomfortable reaction to loud noise common to Aschen. Several previous attempts to infiltrate the Confederation were foiled by simple overlooks like this, and Intelligence is determined not to repeat their mistakes twice. Eaton and Jonas will be as close to real members of Aschen society as possible, right down to their unique DNA markers, thanks to a temporary gene therapy that will expire 48 hours after injection.

When all the preparation is complete, Eaton is dressed in a drab grey uniform indicative of Aschen scientists, her cover profession for the mission, and looking over herself in a mirror. Knocking politely at the door, Jonas walks in dressed very much the same, smirking and telling Rebbecca that she looks just as boring as he does. She thinks she looks ridiculous, but she has to admit that the resemblance to an Aschen is as close as she could imagine. Now if she can just keep her voice from giving her away, she thinks they may actually be able to pull this off. Curious, she asks Jonas what he thinks will happen if they succeed, if the Alliance conquers Aschae and brings a final end to the war. Pausing, Quinn only looks at her uncertainly, reminding her that they're only setting the future in motion, not writing it down. What happens in the long run is anyone's guess, and all they can do is hope it works out for the better.

The two of them make their way to the gate room, where the rest of SG-1, Talbot, and Col. Carter have gathered with the Intelligence agents on-base to wish them luck. The Tok'ra who prepped Eaton earlier tells Jonas that they're moving the first ships of the assault fleet into position now, and will move in the second they receive the "all clear" signal. Carter remarks that the Jupiter and Aurora will be among those ships, and Talbot promises to put the full resources of the ISGC into gathering more information while the duo are on their mission. As the stargate begins to dial, Eaton asks where, exactly, they're heading off to, and Jonas grimaces. To make this convincing, they're slipping into the Aschen fleet during the chaos of an orbital battle.

And sure enough, the next day sees the them onboard a Free Jaffa ha'tak, part of a special battle group engaging a Confederation fleet in orbit over a recently-conquered world. Pulling Rebbecca into a pre-prepped cargo ship in the hanger, Jonas says that everything is going as well as they could hope... so far. Their entire plan hinges on the enemy forces hanging around long enough for them to slip onboard, but if they move too soon and retreat without making the fight look convincing, the Aschen will know something is wrong. That said, the last thing they want are meaningless Jaffa deaths, so Jonas fires up the engines and informs the bridge that they can prepare to jump into hyperspace the second they're away. Activating the cloak, he notes Rebbecca's less-than-confident look and swears that everything is going to be fine. Even still, she doesn't seem all that convinced that this will work.

Outside, the fighting has intensified, and the the Aurora cleaves a Confederation cruiser cleanly in half with its Asgard weaponry. F-302s and death gliders arc in and out of the enemy formation, cleating paths for the larger and more-powerful F-302b and al'kesh groups to commence their bombing runs. As battles go, this one seems to be going particularly well for the Alliance, which makes it all the more a shame that they can't stick around to finish the job.

(More of "In Purgatory's Shadow," see previous post for beginning and next post for end.)

              Spoiler:
The cargo ship clears the bay and makes straight for the largest enemy ship, and the Jaffa captain in charge of the operation wishes the two humans the best of luck. Trading a few parting shots with the Confederation fleet, the Alliance forces begin their withdrawal, goading their quarry into approaching even more. Several of the smaller cruisers roar by overhead, pelting the ha'tak with mass drivers in a final effort to knock out their shields and score one last kill. Jonas expertly glides past the retreating death gliders and attaches the tel'tak to the enemy flagship's least-utilized airlock. Once he's sure they have a good seal, he tells Eaton to ensure she's not carrying anything not assigned by Intelligence before they slip onboard. The last thing they need is for something emblazoned with the ISGC logo to fall out of a pocket and give them away.

When they're both sure that everything's set, Jonas sets the autopilot to detach from the airlock and speed away in just over a minute, giving them plenty of time to be on their way. He opens the portal onto the Aschen vessel and herds Eaton through, sealing the way behind them as they slip into a gray, featureless corridor. Rebbecca murmurs that of course it's just more monotones, but Jonas quickly steers her down another hallway. They have to blend in immediately, and stay blended until the ship's heading back into Confederation space. Relenting, she lets him guide her away from the airlock, slipping in with passing aides and officers.

On the flafship's bridge, Mollem watches with interest as the Alliance forces retreat into hyperspace, letting his weapons officer fire a final volley before they're completely out of range. When the other fleet has completely vanished, Mollem's first order of business is to dispatch several transports to the surface of the planet they're orbiting. It was only recently absorbed into the Confederation, and he doesn't want any of the natives getting emboldened by the battle overhead. Should any of the cities show signs of rebellion, they are to be exterminated immediately. His subordinates move to see his orders through at once, showing no remorse or second thoughts about how many populations they've sterilized or destroyed.

Looking down on the primarily green world as the first transport ships begin to depart, Mollem asks the closest aide how soon a reconstruction of the battle can be put together. It's Aschen protocol for a fleet commander to go over a simulation of each engagement they've participated in, attempting to spot the aims of the enemy and to correct mistakes for the future. And this battle in particular stands out. Mollem doesn't quite believe that the Alliance came to attempt liberation; this planet was staunchly isolationist and aligned itself more with seedy mercenary factions than any major power. The assault doesn't make any sense, and therefore there must have been another objective. Turning toward his personal space at the rear of the bridge, Mollem runs over the possibilities in his head, determined to figure it out.

Meanwhile, on Earth, word is just reaching the ISGC that phase one of Jonas's operation is complete. Listening to the incoming transmission, Talbot asked if they sustained any serious losses before the tel'tak slipped out. They won't be able to get a concrete answer until the fleet has exited hyperspace, but preliminary reports from the Jupiter put their only losses as fightercraft. The victory was theirs in every way, but now it's a waiting game. The Venii are monitoring their relay network around the clock, and will give the green light the instant the target relay rejoins the grid. Two additional fleets are standing by at a Venii relay near Dar Eshkalon, and the moment they can go, all three will jump directly through the open corridor to Aschae.

Light-years away, Mollem's forces are entering hyperspace themselves, the conquered world below alive with fires in most major cities. As the flagship departs, Jonas and Eaton are making their way towards the engine room, taking the most-traveled corridors to remain inconspicuous. Squeezing past a group of engineers, Rebbecca whispers a question, wondering why they can't just hack any local terminal like has happened on Earth ships time and again. Jonas replies that she just answered her own question, as the Aschen build their hyperdrive control systems with only two accessible terminals. One remains on the bridge while the other is in the engine room. They sacrifice adaptability in emergencies for absolute security, and given how few times the Confederation has lost a warship to hacking, he'd say it's paid off.

As they round a corner, though, the two stop in their tracks; dead ahead are a pair of Der'kal females flanking a single male commander. Whispering, Eaton recognizes him immediately from ISGC briefings, identifying him as one of the rogue alien warlords Earth's been hunting. To complicate matters, he's one of the few that the Alliance Intelligence had reported as actively fighting the Aschen rather than helping them. Jonas nods, remembering that as well, and wants to know what's going on. That particular piece of intel was regarded as entirely reliable, and this revelation is quite distressing, moreso in the wake of the System Lord infiltration of the organization. Setting her jaw, Rebbecca says that they need to figure out what he's doing here then, but Jonas hisses at her to remember that they have a mission to attend to already. They can't afford to get sidetracked, and this can be left to other agents at another time. The two bicker for a moment more before a loud roar startles them, causing both to clutch at their ears because of the intensified sound.

Looking up, they see the Der'kal commander roaring angrily at an Aschen official, his female guards daring anyone to interrupt. The official, for his part, calmly asks the alien if he would like to discuss the matter in private, and convinces him to meet in an hour in a large conference room on the command deck. Agreeing to the terms, the Der'kal group stalks off, and passerby return to their duties. Having changed his mind, Jonas suggests they be at that meeting. He heard "naquadria" in that exchange, and that has him worried. Worse still, Rebbecca heard "relay," and so the two slowly turn to follow the Der'kal, praying this doesn't take long.

Upstairs on the bridge, Mollem's requested battle simulation has finished, and he's watching the hologram with intense concentration. It starts just as the Alliance fleet shoots out of hyperspace, launching a first strike that cripples a Confederation battlecruiser and destroys a support ship outright. They score a few more hits before fire is returned, and Mollem absently mutters something about faster response times. The rest of the battle plays out much as Eaton and Jonas observed while they were in it, with perfect replication and no bias for the Aschen forces. Then his eyes light up, and he seems to notice something he hadn't before. Zooming in on that section of the battle, Mollem watches as three ha'tak seem to be forming a corridor with their attacks, launching them around a single space from another vessel to the Confederation command ship. Almost as if for ensure something had a direct path through...

...but he doesn't have time to analyze that any longer, as a subordinate has entered and, bowing, relays a request for his presence in the command deck conference room. Their Der'kal guest wishes to discuss things at length, and he has asked for the fleet commander to be present. Sighing, Mollem shuts down the holoprojector and stands, straightening his uniform jacket and stepping out from behind his desk. He orders the subordinate to save the scenario he was overlooking at the exact timeframe he had paused, and furthermore to begin a scan of the ship for any possible intruders. Something's definitely wrong, and he's determined to discover what.

Downstairs, Eaton watches the Der'kal step onto a transport terminal ("2010"/"2001") for the higher levels, and she motions of Jonas to get on as well as soon as the coast is clear. The two slink over and step on, then key in the appropriate command to teleport them to the command deck. They've barely finished materializing there before both are shoved into the nearest wall by one of the Der'kal females. Eaton cries out, her arm bent painfully, and Jonas sets his teeth to keep from doing the same. Several other personnel have likewise been pinned by the apparently overzealous guards. A few feet away, the Der'kal warlord is demanding to know how intruders could have gotten onboard, furious and paranoid that they are here to assassinate him. The Aschen again assures the alien that there's nothing to fear, and that they will know within seconds if this level has any such infiltrators.

There's a long silence in which everyone waits, Eaton and Jonas staring at one another clearly afraid... but then it passes, and the official looks at a nearby monitor. He informs the Der'kal that the only persons on the command deck are either extragalactic or from Aschae, and that sets the matter to rest. The females release their pinned quarries and return to their guard positions around the warlord. Seemingly satisfied, the warlord brushes past the official down the hall, and the Aschen, while somewhat flustered, resume their regular activities. Rubbing her sore arm, Rebbecca asks her companion how they can be so nonchalant about things like this, but Jonas can only shrug. The Aschen are a strange people, that's all there really is to it. Either way, that encounter worked out perfectly in their favor, though he refuses to tell Rebbecca why just yet. Together, they resume their slow and stealthy pursuit.

Outside Confederation space, a hyperspace window is forming adjacent to the FTL relay near Dar Eshkalon, the economic powerhouse of the Free Jaffa Nation. On the bridge of the Jupiter, Col. Samantha Carter heaves a sigh of relief, both for their safe arrival and the completion of a systems diagnostic confirming her ship suffered no major damage in the earlier battle. Angling her vessel toward the two other Alliance fleets waiting to jump at a moment's notice, she asks the helmsmen how long it's been since they left the battle with the Aschen. It's only been a couple of hours, but Sam's already worried. The galaxy's lost enough of its heroes already, it doesn't need to lose two more. But then her attention is called to something three decks down, and she puts the thought out of her mind.

On the Aschen flagship, still travelling with its escorts in hyperspace, Jonas is watching as the Der'kal enter a conference room, the door sealing behind them. Defeated, Eaton mutters at what a waste of time that whole episode was, but Jonas just pulls her down a less-crowded hall and taps his aural implant. Confused, Rebbecca does the same with her own implant, and suddenly hears the voice of the Der'kal warlord as though he were standing right next to her.

(End of "In Purgatory's Shadow," see previous two posts for beginning.)

                Spoiler:
Inside the conference room, the view pans from a minuscule listening device on one of the female warriors, the one that had grabbed Jonas earlier, in fact. He must have slipped it onto her in the commotion, and as the particular guard now stands directly between her master and a newly-arrived Mollem, the humans outside should be able ot hear everything. Taking his seat, Mollem thanks the warlord for his patience, and hopes that this meeting can finish quickly so they can both return to their work. Nodding, the Der'kal begins by pointing out that he has fulfilled his part of the "bargain," using what advanced cruisers he has left to mine the boulder-sized chunks of naquadria desired by the Confederation. Now that the entire order has been delivered, he wants confirmation that he will get his reward.

Brushing off the warlord's anger, Mollem assures him that all will be handed over in good time. Now, however, is the time for patience. The Confederation has spent years planning for these last few days, setting things into motion years before the Der'kal ever set their eyes on the Milky Way. Their invasion helped them to accelerate their designs but that doesn't mean they can afford to move before they're ready. The warlord snarls that he doesn't care much for the Aschen's plans, reminding Mollem that it's thanks to his interdictors that a major spacelane on the Confederation-Alliance border remains impassable. If he doesn't get what he's asking for, those ships may be required elsewhere... and Heliopolis may receive an anonymous message pointing that out.

In the hallway, Eaton mutters that this is interesting news to her. They've assumed that the rogue warlords working with the Aschen were willing and eager partners, but this conversation suggests that their enemies are playing a very dangerous and complicated game to maintain a power base equal to that of the Alliance. They've apparently been overestimating their foes for some time now, and this could really change things up in the future.

Getting back on track, Mollem says that everything is proceeding as his superiors have foreseen, and there's nothing Earth or its allies can do to stop them now. The short-lived System Lord infiltration of Alliance Intelligence proved infinitely useful to the Aschen, as the Goa'uld were more than willing to divulge gathered secrets in the hope of defeating a common enemy. They learned the very early stages of an Intel-backed plan to use the FTL relay in their territory to launch an attack on Aschae itself, a bold move indeed. But of course, they cannot allow that to happen, and the Der'kal-mined minerals will prove the key to ensuring the plan's failure. Once the area directly around the relay is mined with naquadria, the Confederation fleet can sit back and wait for the station's energy discharge to incinerate the closest rocks, sparking a chain reaction that should destroy the entire incoming armada. Then they'll be free to launch a counterattack and finally obliterate a defenseless Alliance.

While Eaton and Jonas listen with shock, the Der'kal warlord gives a short laugh, impressed by his ally's cunning. Turning their opponents' plans against them, that's something that would have very much impressed Lor'al, and he wishes to remain here to see the victory itself. Mollem is happy to grant the request, noting that they'll be arriving at their destination momentarily. Confused, Rebbecca asks what's going on. Aschen hyperdrives are nowhere near fast enough for them to be at Aschae already. Given the content of that last part of the conversation, though, Jonas has a sinking feeling that they were never heading that way at all. Pulling Eaton towards a window down the hall, they watch as the flagship roars back into realspace... arriving a few kilometers from the target FTL relay.

Not wasting any time, the Aschen fleet disperses to begin deployment of the naquadria all around the station's activation radius. Cutting out the feed from the conference room, Jonas whispers that this is pretty much as bad as things could get for them. They need to either keep that relay jammed or find a way to warn the Alliance to abort the mission entirely. But Eaton's not sure what they can really do, given the circumstances. They came equipped for espionage, not a fight.

Pulling her further down the hall, Jonas agrees that they simply don't have the equipment to fight their way out of here. And without another ship, they can't exactly get away. He was relying on their returning to Aschae so they could steal another craft there, but that's obviously out of the picture. Thinking, Rebbecca goes over the situation in her head, trying to come up with a way to neutralize the incredible threat now posed by the Aschen. She looks out the window, watching the enemy fleet unload their cargo, and suddenly has an idea. Excited, she reminds Jonas that the only way Mollem's going to make this plan of his work is by unjamming the relay so it can function again. If they can find a ring platform to get onto the station itself, they can bypass the jamming signal, reconnect it to the rest of the relay grid, and activate the transport systems. With the enemy fleet still within the naquadria minefield, they'll be completely destroyed, and the Alliance can jump in unhindered.

Grinning, Jonas mutters that he knew he brought her along for a reason. He knows a thing or two about Confederation battlecruisers, and a ring platform is stored in lockdown here on the command deck for emergency evacuations. They just need to unseal it and they should be good to go. Letting the Intelligence agent lead the way, Eaton follows him down the hall, thinking that they just may have a shot at this.

In the conference room, an aide approaches Mollem as the Der'kal warlord leaves, apologizing for interrupting the tail end of the conversation. He says that they've completed scans of each deck and there aren't any signs of intruders... but the bridge crew took the liberty of finishing his earlier analysis of the battle hologram and they agree with his assessment. An airlock breach alarm was triggered for a microsecond before being overridden from outside. It was short enough to be overlooked as a mistake by the computer, but in light of the enemy's actions in the orbital engagement, it's obvious that someone must have boarded the ship before they entered hyperspace. They've been here all this time, and it's possible they know of their plans regarding the Venii relay. That, if nothing else, suddenly seems to give Mollem pause.

Sprinting into the deck's evacuation chamber, Eaton seals the blast door in while Jonas rushes to the nearby control console and begins unlocking the ring platform. A large metal shield similar to Earth's iris folds away and the platform itself rises to floor level. Suddenly the room's lights darken and a klaxon blares angrily, signalling a security breach, and Jonas swears. He doubted his hacking here would go unnoticed, but there's nothing they can do about that now. They only have seconds before the bridge crew locks him out of the system, and he's determined not to get trapped here. Rebbecca runs up just as he finishes his work, punching in the transport command and dragging her inside the rings. Vents hiss open around the room and thick toxins begin to pour in, the Aschen equivalent of a security team apparently, but it's too little to late. The humans vanish in a column of light, beamed over to an identical platform inside the adjacent space station.

As the two of them race for the relay's control room, Mollen arrives on his flagship's bridge, displaying a rare look of fury. He demands to know what's happening, and a subordinate informs him that the intruders unlocked the emergency ring platform and appear to have made their way to the FTL relay. They're unsealing the blast doors to the rings now, and they can transport over a canister of the appropriate viruses within minutes. Calming down, Mollem stares out at the station, assured that his plan will be back on track momentarily. He honestly has no idea what the infiltrators hope to accomplish, but soon enough it won't matter.

Practically barreling into the control room, Eaton powers up the consoles while Jonas disables the jamming codes the Confederation had installed. Up on the display, an image of the station flashes and rejoins the larger network, prompting a sudden call to action thousands of light-years away. Sitting up in her command chair, Carter passes along the sudden activation signal from the target relay to the rest of the armada. The dozens of ships move in formation toward their own nearby relay, watching as the gargantuan construct powers up in preparation for a transit from Aschen space. Whatever's going on, it's very unexpected; this is far too soon for Eaton and Jonas to have reached Aschae and made their way to the FTL station. Whatever the case, Jupiter stands at the ready for whatever's coming through, and Sam can only close her eyes and pray that this all works out.

Listening to the ring platform activate a ways down the hall, Eaton shouts for Jonas to trigger the transport protocol now, and the agent's fist slams down on the confirmation key. Outside, the Aschen fleet, still sowing its naquadria minefield, is completely obscured by blinding white light... just before the entire scene goes dark.

Yeah, my apologies. School. Blah. I had about half the episode written when the crap hit the fan and just never got the time to finish it or get on GateWorld. But I get to work for 6 months instead of deal with class next semester, so that'll be a nice break.

"Quid Pro Quo," mid-season premiere of Season 15.

^ I'm honestly shocked I remembered that immediately.

That was good, the leaving it like that was EXACTLY like a true SG show. The drama with very minimum firefights, you truely are one of the best writers here (No offence to any writers who read this.) Trés bein monsiuer.

News alert: Stargate: Universe has just been cancelled by SyFy... which means I guess I'll have to add a third continuation eventually. Sad day for the franchise nonetheless, I'll miss the show...
