Remember when I said that two out of four alien ships would appear this season? Well, in "Final Exam" we saw one of them; a Wraith hive ship. That leaves three possibilities for the others... a Replicator warship, a Lantean cruiser, and an Asgard science vessel.

      Which one will it be...
i for one hope it s the lantean cruiser but the asgard science vessel would be cool too,but so would be the replicator chip............do we have to choose only one?
u should put all of 3 of them in the next episode i m sure no one would mind

Vur'naa will be featured in the second half of the mid-season two-parter, "Lost and Found."

            14x18 "The Station"
Synopsis: SG-1 must evade the Der'kal as they scout an alien space station floating derelict on the edge of the galaxy. It doesn't take long, though, for things to go from merely dangerous to downright deadly.
            Spoiler:
A wormhole opens the episode, sending some travelers far across the galaxy... but these travelers we know. On an alien world, SG-1 steps out of a stargate, dressed for combat and carrying their weapons at the ready. This planet, as they immediately see, is quite swampy, and large, exotic birds fly overhead in the cloudy sky. As she walks off the stone steps leading to the gate, Vala grimaces and looks down to see her boots half-covered in thick mud, muttering that the ISGC sure knows how to pick the planets they visit.

A few feet away, Carter motions for the others to hurry up; the Nox estimate they'll only have a couple of hours here before the Der'kal return in full. As they walk, it becomes clear from their chatter that the aliens have an interest in this planet for some reason, as Alliance intelligence has detected an ever-increasing buildup of their forces in orbit lately. But this world (P3X-590), doesn't seem to hold anything all that remarkable. In fact, the only thing at all interesting about it is its atmosphere, which is highly ionized and interferes with surface-to-orbit scanning and communications. Normally, that would flag it as strategic, but it's nearly outside the Milky Way, and therefore hardly worth the effort of colonizing or turning into a base. Mitchell suddenly points into the distance, indicating a Der'kal gunship over a forest several miles away. He turns to Carter and suggests they scout the other direction. Sam's not about to argue, and they move out to the east.

After some walking, they arrive in a small clearing, with a rocky hill sitting in the center. While Carter and Mitchell take point, scouting the skies for any sign of enemy aircraft, Vala and Daniel head up the hill, wondering why, out of all this swampland, this place is cleared. But as soon as they reach the top of the mound they see why; something appearing quite similar to a ring platform sits there, slightly overgrown with age. The only true noticeable difference is the design of the rings, and the fact that there is a pedastal clearly not of Ancient design sitting nearby, with various buttons with unknown symbols on them.

As Daniel examines the pedastal, trying to figure out what the symbols might stand for, Mitchell suddenl shouts, "Incoming!" and points in the distance, where a Der'kal gunship is turning toward them, and two of its escort fightercraft move ahead to engage SG-1. He and Carter rush up the mound, shouting that they need to get back into the swamp now, but Daniel thinks that's a bad idea; in there, they can't move very quickly, and the Der'kal could just bomb the area, land troops, or blast it from orbit to kill them... or worse, capture them. Sam, seeing the fighters coming within firing range, demands an alternate route then, because right now they're out of time.

Moving quickly, Daniel rushes to the pedastal and begins slamming his fist onto random buttons, until finally he hits one that causes a low humming noise. Hoping that that's what he wants, and hearing the enemy fighters loose a stream of emerald plasma bolts at them, he drags everyone inside the rings and watches as they are transported away mere seconds before the area explodes in a cloud of rock and soil.

They transport into a small chamber with metal walls. There's hardly any light, so everyone switches on their flashlights. As soon as they step out of the rings, however, the entire room lights up as sensors pick them up and turn on the automatic lighting system. Shrugging, Daniel flips off his flashlight, and the others follow. The ring room bears little resemblance to any other form of alien architecture, certainly not Ancient or Goa'uld, the two primary systems encountered in the Milky Way. Vala knocks on one of the walls, listens for a moment, and guesses they're inside some sort of building; the walls seem thick enough, and they're not hollow.

Walking over to a closed door, Sam pulls out an Ancient hand scanner and moves it around, frowning. She's not picking up any sort of EM whatsoever, indicating that wherever they are, there's no high technology here, or at the very least, not working. But that doesn't make sense to Mitchell, and he argues why build a place like this in the middle of nowhere on a god-forsaken planet if you have nothing good to hide? Carter shrugs and tries to pry the door open. When that doesn't work, she pulls out her combat knife, jams it between the two panels, and pulls until they crack open. She and Mitchell pull them aside, revealing a long hallway that lights up as soon as they walk through the door. Not seeing much choice, they head down it. As they walk, Daniel continues to examine the architecture of the structure, whipping out his notebook and taking notes. Behind them, the lights dim and shut off, as there is no longer a need to waste power there.

Eventually, they come to another door, which Carter and Mitchell manage to pry open, activating the lights beyond. Some sort of mid-sized power generator lies before them, in a pit several meters down, but it's completely inactive. Going up to the guardrail surrounding the pit, Carter peers around, looking for some sign of active generation, but sees nothing. She turns to Mitchell and suggests they try and find a way to get the device back online, just so they can try and access a computer and figure out what this place is. Not hearing any complaints, she pulls out her laptop and tries to interface it with a nearby panel.

Back in the swamp clearing, two Der'kal gunships have touched down just off of the destroyed-hill, with several warriors scouting through the upturned dirt for a sign of SG-1. A larger alien, a commander, steps off one of the gunships and signals for another, possible a second-in-command to approach and give a status report. The smaller warrior looks off to the mound and says that the fighter pilots reported seeing a bright flash of white light just before they fired on the humans. They pulled up and circled around, but there was nothing. The commander snarls, annoyed, and stomps up the hill himself, looking around. When his foot bangs against the now-buried ring platform, he orders his men to dig it up. They've found something, and he intends to figure it out just as SG-1 did.

Meanwhile, Carter is losing all patience with the alien technology; she sees no way to plug her laptop in at all. Daniel, examining some alien writing on the wall, suggests she try and find a port of some kind, and Sam tiredly explains that she already tried that. There doesn't seem to be any way to interface whatsoever. Vala and Mitchell are sitting in the corner, fiddling with their guns, when Vala suddenly notices a strange looking outcropping in the wall. She grabs it and pulls, attempting to use it to help her stand, but it suddenly slides down into the wall... revealing a control panel. Every stares, stunned, but Vala just shrugs.

Carter rushes over, quickly analyzing the panel. After a moment, she presses a few buttons experimentally, and suddenly another wall panel slides back to reveal a display screen, which quickly comes alive with light. On it, the image of a space station is visible, leading Mitchell to guess they're inside some sort of ground-based control center for a station in orbit. Carter hits another button, and a door off to the left slides open easily, as does the door they entered (it had shut). Glancing down the hallway now revealed, Daniel shouts that it looks like she just opened all the doors, so they should have access now. He grabs Vala and says they'll start exploring, while Mitchell stays with Carter to try and help hey get power going.

As they head down the new corridor, Vala asks Daniel if he has any idea who built this place. Jackson can only guess, but he assumes it's not one related in any way to the Ancients or Goa'uld; the style is all wrong. He supposes it could be the Aschen, but constructing massive space stations in the middle of nowhere isn't quite their style, either. They round a corner and freeze, then Daniel suddenly reaches for his radio. When Sam asks what's up, he says he knows where they are. They aren't in a control room... (the camera then reveals a window looking down on the swamp planet) they're on the space station. And what's worse... a Der'kal fleet is sitting in orbit, completely surrounding them.

(More of "The Station," see previous post for start)
              Spoiler:
Immediately, Carter freezes at the control panel. She's afraid that powering up the generator will alert the Der'kal to their presence and prompt them to ring aboard. But that raises another question; why haven't they done so already? Sam pulls out her scanner and checks for life signs, but again only reads SG-1. Mitchell chimes in then, saying that he honestly has no clue, but they should take advantage of their pausing anyway. Turning to Sam, he suggests getting the power on, as it's that or sit here indefinitely, and they need to do something, risky or not. Daniel agrees, and says he and Vala will keep scouting the area. Maybe they can find some sort of weapons' control grid.

On the planet below, the Der'kal have finally unearthed the ring platform, and it is being suspended a foot in the air by some sort of anti-gravity device positioned under it (a similar thing was used by Vur'naa in "Friendly Fire"). The alien commander approaches the also-unburied control pedastal, but snarls when he sees that the top portion of it was blown apart. Angry, he turns to another Der'kal, this one not dressed in combat armor but instead a form-fitting suit of some kind... most importantly, though, this one is female, a first we've seen amongst there kind outi n the field. A small plasma pistol is holstered at her shoulder, and her features appear slightly less manacing than those of males. The commander orders her to fix the pedastal, and the female calmly replies that she will attend to it immediately. Behind her, a few other similarly-dressed females approach and bend to their work, with the male warriors stepping back and bowing their heads. Males may have more authority, but it seems females are somewhat reverred in their society.

High above, on the space station, Carter is still randomly hitting buttons on the control panel. She admits it's not very scientific, but without an interface, she has no choice. Finally, she hits one that causes the power generator to hum, and the lights in the room brighten as full power is restored. Several rooms away, Daniel and Vala are passing a window when they see an energy curtain outside flash and dissipate... and the Der'kal ships suddenly turning toward them. Realizing what the curtain is, Vala radios back and tells Sam to undo what she just did; turning on the pwoer must have shorted out the station's shield, which was no doubt keeping the enemy from ringing onboard without use of the alien platform on the planet.

A view from outside confirms that a shield is being lowered, and the gargantuan station suddenly becomes alive with light. Two Der'kal cruises nearby immediately begin moving forward, loosing gunships and fighter squadrons as they do so.

In the power room, Carter scrambles to shut down the core, hoping that'll raise the shield again. When Mitchell demands to know why it failed at all, Sam guesses that the station doesn't have enough energy to power up its primary systems and maintain the field at the same time, and if that's the case, shutting down main power should restore the defensive screen. Her hand hovers over the panel, then she closes her eyes and hits a button. Immediately, the generator behind them ceases its humming, and the lights dim again. Mitchell radios Jackson and asks if the shield is back up, but Daniel says they don't see anything yet... and the enemy cruisers are opening fire!

The two ships let loose a few green plasma bolts, which strike the station and cause minimal explosions. Inside, there's a light shaking, but otherwise no apparent sign of damage. It must have an incredibly strong armor system, as other vessels were easily overwhelmed by the Der'kal once shieldless. From where they stand watching, Vala and Daniel keep jump at every impact, seeing them edge closer to the window, and shout for Sam to do something. And then, amazingly, the shield glows back in activity, absorbing the Der'kal's energy blasts. In the power room, Mitchell congratulates Carter and turns to check on the ring room, to make sure no aliens got aboard. But he no sooner turns into the hallway then he is grabbed by a Der'kal warrior, who roughly picks him up and hurls him backwards, slamming against the guardrail and dropping his P90 into the pit that houses the generator.

Carter stands and whips out her own gun, burying bullets in the alien's armor, but, as usual, it doesn't seem to be having much effect at piercing it. The warrior draws a plasma pistol and is seemingly about to fire when a zat blast strikes out of nowhere and hits him, causing him to pause. Vala and Daniel enter, zats at the ready, and keep firing along with Sam. When Carter's bullets finally smash the material of the Der'kal's face plate, two consecutive zat blasts to the head take him down for good. Mitchell gets up, pulls out his pistol, and turns back into the corridor, now darkened from no one being in it. He motions to the others that he sees three more warriors at the far end, in the ring room, and whispers for Vala and Daneil to come with him. They nod, switching out zats for the P90s they left in the power room, and the three of them make their way forward while Sam struggles to find a way to get them out of this mess.

Moving down the hallway toward the lighted ring room, Mitchell, Daniel, and Vala hear bits of the Der'kal language; the three warriors sound angry. Then, just as they're preparing to ambush them, two warriors enter the hallway, looking stunned to see the humans. Mitchell waves, then he and the others open fire, ducking behind metal outcroppings in the wall to use as cover. The two alien warriors are wielding carbine-like weapons, which are more powerful and fire faster than their pistols. One of the green blasts narrowly misses Vala, and as the third alien enters, an evenly-matched firefight ensues.

On the planet, the Der'kal commander is growing impatient. His forces in orbit only managed to ring four men over to the alien space station, and they have yet to make contact back. But the station's shield dropping was a stroke of luck, meaning that perhaps they are close to being able to board it in full. He turns to the team of females then, demanding to know if they're finished. The lead one steps away, bowing her head, and gestures to a mostly-rebuilt control pedastal. She says it should work as before, though the technology is completely unknown to her. Eager to see if this is true, the commander orders six warriors to get inside the rings, then punches the pedastals activation button. At once, the rings activate, and the troops are transported away.

In the power room, Carter hears a sudden beeping noise, and looks up to see a warning that the rings have come online. She grabs her radio and says that they have company, then picks up her P90 and rushes for the door... but then she pauses. The holo-screen Vala opened up is suddenly displaying a command prompt system, with a schematic of the station laid out. It's a damage report from where the Der'kal plasma bolts hit the armor plating, but the area it's focusing in on is what interests Carter; a small, knob-like thing at the very bottom of the station. She pulls out her laptop and turns on the camera, immediately setting it to record whatever shows up on the screen, then rushes into the hallway to help her friends.

Mitchell asks how things are going when Sam crouches down next to him, but she only shakes her head and fires her P90, managing to, with Daniel's help, take down one of the warriors. But then more enter from the ring room, already firing, and Carter guesses they won't have very long; the Der'kal must have managed to figure out the platform down on the planet. Mitchell curses, saying that they don't have time to fight all these guys off...

And suddenly, they don't have to. Outside, the Der'kal continue to bombard the station, but it's coming back online. The shield flickers out as power is transferred, and the entire behemoth is lit up. At the top, six massive panels extend outwards, making the station appear like an umbrella, and the knob-like thing at the bottom of the station itself begins to glow. The Der'kal cease fire for a moment, wondering what's going to happen, but now they're practically on top of it, a mere few hundred meters from the glowing knob.

A bright white light pulses outwards from the tip of the station, almost as if something is being shot out, and when it fades, the Der'kal fleet is gone. No evidence of it having ever been there remains behind, and in the hallway, the alien warriors suddenly pause, as harsh Der'kal langauge can be heard coming over radios built into their armor. After exchanging one last shot-trade with SG-1, they pull back to the ring room and transport down to the planet. The team looks on, stunned.

Some time later, the rings on the swamp planet activate, and SG-1 appears, weapons at the ready, but there's no one around. No Der'kal, no gunships, nothing. The aliens have cleared out, and Carter wonders where they all went, and why so suddenly (they are unaware of what transpired between the station and the fleet). Shrugging, Daniel suggests they head back to the ISGC and report the station to Dr. Talbot and Co... and perhaps also that the Der'kal presence in this system is no longer an issue.

At the ISGC, back on Earth, Talbot is sitting in the briefing room with SG-1, listening to their report. When Carter gets to the part about more aliens ringing on, she pulls out her laptop and plugs it into the overhead, saying she left it to record whatever the diagnostic screen showed. As soon as the clip starts, we can see the knob-like thing on the station schematic begin to flash, and then the image of it flashes more and more quickly until its light holds steady for a moment, then fades. After that, the diagnostic screen shuts down.

Carter still wants to know what happened, but Talbot dismisses it. They're needed offworld ASAP, and she'll send SG-5 to go check it out. With that, the team is dismissed, all wondering just what they've uncovered... and what it could mean for the war.

Same reason Sheppard didn't take one in "The Daedalus Variations"; it's more fun to see them suffer with crappy Earth guns
