Perhaps a few well-placed Molotov Cocktails

Remember: No threats of violence! Although at this point, it'd be more like euthanasia.

I do think that ENT and SGU are similar... if only for being known as the series that ended their respective TV franchises.

How awesome would it be if we could put together and launch a real sci-fi channel....that actually showed science fiction

Are you suggesting that wrestling is science fiction?

lolol, nx is of fire with his pointed comments. I can't say I disagree with you to much. SGU is the ENT of the Stargate franchise (another-words it stinks!)

I don't know if it's the horrible writing -- lame concept - or bad acting that is dragging SGU and the Stargate franchise in to the abyss. Other than the lady medic who lost her kid and Chloe - I just don't care about any of these characters. The fat nerd-kid is a horrible actor (I cringe every time he opens his mouth), the rest of the cast is decent enough, but hardly interesting.

I thought, "Well, there's a war on, and they need somebody to help out with morale." I was reminded of some of Bob Hope's appearances in military footage especially with The Siege of AR-558 and It's Only a Paper Moon. Military history has been a great interest of mine since I was a boy and Bob Hope had a certain niche with US troops and the USO in the past. Vic, in a very futuristic way, filled the same niche.
Great call on the USO angle brother CF. Vic did capture that WWII feel where crooners dominated the USO shows. I'm kind of surprised TPTB didn't just use the USO angle to introduce the Vic character.

When I first saw "His Way" I was wondering whether or not the producers would go the same route as The Doctor on Voyager. But Vic's angle was distinctly his own. I was actually hoping that "Fly Me to the Moon" and "As Time Goes By" would make its way onto DS9 but they still had some good selections for Vic.

I couldn't agree more - Vic is unlike any Star Trek (or even scifi) character I can remember. It's interesting how most people have a strong opinion (whether it's good or bad) about Vic (there doesn;t seem to be much middle ground with his character).

All this talk about Vic has motivated me into rewatching His Way tonight. I just have to wait until the wife falls asleep so I can have control of the television.

What we used to say: "Remember when MTV actually played Music?"

What we now can say: Remember when SyFy was actually Sci-Fi and played Science Fiction?"

I don't get HD. I've watched several shows on HD and I don't seen enough of a difference to really care. The only difference that I've seen is that the picture is brighter and the volume is lower.
