I also thought Nikola's animal plasma medication/food was something he would drink. Maybe because vampires drink blood so I assumed he would drink it. *shrugs* But then in The Five Helen says something like "you haven't stopped taking your medication, have you?" so maybe there's something he takes to control his bloodlust in addition to the animal plasma concoction that gives him what he needs nutrition wise??? Wish they'd be clearer on this.

I don't suppose they see it as a particularly important thing to go in to. I mean, the main point is that he made a vow not to feed on humans... but I agree, I wish they'd make what meds he's actually on a bit clearer.

Honestly, all the way through that little scene the way she was looking at him was so... suggestive... I think. I mean, he looks at her like that all the time, but there was definitely something two-way here
