Nikola was de-vamped and she comes with that bottle of wine to "cheer him up" nonsense. why hadn't she shared a glass of wine with him while he was a vampire? the only explanation I can come up with, beside the fact that she knew he won't get drunk, is that she didn't wanted to get drunk herself with him being sober all her self control would have disappeared just like that and we would have had lots to talk about now
