lol not my usual genre of music but for Teslen, i'll listen to pretty much anything

just read this poem, reminded me of Helen

Young with the ageless youth that yesterday
Bent to the yoke of flesh immortal pride.


What though in time of thunder and black cloud
The Spirit of the Innermost recedes
Into the depths of Being, stormy browed,
Obscured by a long life of dreams and deeds—


There is no age—the swiftly passing hour
That measures out our days of pilgrimage
And breaks the heart of every summer flower,
Shall find again the child’s soul in the sage.


There is no age, for youth is the divine;
And the white radiance of the timeless soul
Burns like a silver lamp in that dark shrine
That is the tired pilgrim’s ultimate goal.

i almost feel like NIkola could have written that about Helen

DOUBLE POST I KNOW! but you'll like it. i just had the oppurtunity to write a poem that i put on the JY/Nikola Thunk thread but figured i shoud post here too just in case the title is a quote by Jack Kerouac

Spoiler:

“All our best men are laughed at in this nightmare land.”
First bench, second bench,
Sits on the third. Opens the bag
With fingers more accustomed
To dabbling with thin throbbing wires
That now scoop out the seeds
Sprinkling them gently over the ground near
His pristinely shined shoes and waits.
Soon the soft flap is heard as they land
In a gray and white shower of feathers
And beginning to devour the seeds
Coo gratefully as more is scattered about.
A blithe grin lifts up the neatly trimmed mustache
Gleaming in the ashen ocean of his eyes while
A warm wave crashes over his lonely heart.
The poet of electricity is spending the afternoon
With his only real friends.
