Its a digital video recorder. You don't need discs or anything like that to record your shows.

And luckily, I have both. I usually DVR the show, and then record it onto DVDs with my DVD Recorder.

I'm too lazy to do that. I just buy the shows on DVD...then I don't have to worry about cutting out the commercials.

Yeah, I just can't afford to buy all the shows I want to right now. So the DVD Recorder is a nice option to have, you know?
