All we have going on information is that a basestar got sick and died. We also know that a device was involved. There has been no evidence to the contrary to indicate that it was a cylon virus. And as a few mentioned

    Spoiler:
Apparently the fleet gets affected by it too.

We're going by objectivity, how are the Cylons supposed to know what it is? How are the Cylons supposed to know that it will be brought back in the downloading process if they don't even know what it is? And lastly, wouldn't they have already resurrected before the Cylons knew about the virus?

Sorry I didn't see the episode yet. We're a bit late about new episodes here in Germany...

I think the Resurrection Ship was too far away at the time.

Judging by what 6 said in the mini series, I would say the biolons rank highest. She did say with contempt that those models are still around, they still have their uses, to Baltars statement that the last time anyone saw a cylon they looked like walking chrome toasters.

Since the biolons created their new metal breathen to be subserviant, no free will, no mind of their own, I would say that the biolons are the top of the food chain in cylon society.

I tottaly agree and i liek the idea that it coudl have been the other 5 models that left the canister but Baltar did say it was man made and very old so i dont think that theory really works. I still believe it was the 13th tribe not wanting anyoen to follow them i mean the basestar that first went wasnt there for too long and Baltars basestar was there for quiet an amount of time so i reckon it was definately a virus not radiation i mean how would radiation affect the centurions they are metal !

Which is completely hypocritical given that the original cylons fought the war for the sole want of equality. I think there are those that realize the hypocrisy in it. Maybe the five others?

yeah I remember that too, but on the other hand the originals do have free will, and a mind of their own etc. and they did create the humlons (duh) and they are the same cylons who rebelled against their human makers 40 years ago - I doubt they'd have undertaken to create an entire race just to once again endure the dominion of a new class of "masters"

The originals probably look like the centurions but the similarity stops there

cylon FTL tech allows much longer jumps than tauri tech

a long distance jump for a cylon ship could represent an extremely vast distance

That's what I was thinking. The biolons are essential repeating humanity's mistake by enslaving the robotic cylons. But that ofcourse raises the question, do the biolons even consider the metal cylons, cylons at all? Also is it slavery if those enslaved don't have free will to realize they have been enslaved? Certainly they don't consider the hybrid on the same level as themselves because they don't give her a vote. There has to be a fairly serious reason why the 7 do not even talk about the other 5.

1)They don't know who the 5 are for security reasons, what they don't know they can't reveal but that goes aganist what we have seen so far. We've seen that the 7 know who they are and their place in the world, so to speak. So i don't really think that it would be for security reasons.

2)They are angry/embarassed at the other 5, so they don't talk about them because it will set them off. If this is the case, that would lead me to believe there has been a very large philsophical rift between the 7 and the 5. I think the rift stems from what the 7 wanted to do with humanity, destroy them and the 5 wanted to rejoin them/breed with them to become one species.

Of course the 7 want to interbreed with humanity too but they first want vengence on those that enslaved them. I believe though that the 7 are starting to regret their actions, at least some of them.

Will certainly be interesting to see how the 5 are introduced to us in the series.

Of course the line in the mini could have just been a throw away line for ******s to say that the chrome toasters were still around. Given the way the biolons have reacted to the metal cylons, Boomer treated the raider as a pet, the bullet heads have no free will, I don't think it would be too hard of a stretch to believe that the biolons once created over threw the chrome toasters and took control of the cylon society. Afterall, the biolons do consider themselves the supreme create of god. Never heard that god liked the chrome toasters all that much!

Here is a thought there use to be 12 lords of Kobol, and now there 12 models of cylons. Hmmm....
