how do i make .png files on GIMP?

Just change the file extension in the save dialogue to .png instead of .jpg or .xcf

Had a go at Sarai's tut (I'm determined to get the hang of selective colouring properly one day):

Very pretty Josi - I was exactly the same with layer masks like you are with SC, I just forced myself to do it and slowly it became a bit more natural!! With SC I generally just move the sliders about for each colour untl I come out with something that looks ok.



I'll be making the challenge post once I've put it all together (which tbf will probably take an hour or so) so you have one hour to get last minute entries in!

Yep, I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. Your tut helped, actually - for some reason that's the first time where I really felt I was starting to see what the sliders did, as opposed to just know in theory. I'll get there!
