In my mind, it's a no-brainer. However, there are a lot of homophobic fundamentalists who object to the whole idea that two people who love one another and are committed to one another are entitled to the same situation as any other couple. I mean, come on - is their ability to marry going to in ANY WAY affect your life? I fail to see how it might cause harm to other members of society. The argument put forward by the California attorney was to the effect that marriage was for procreative purposes. I loved the Justice's following question as to whether a couple of 55 year olds should be allowed to wed, since they are not procreative either. The California attorney could not give a reason
