Now that you mention it, is there any kind of science that conservatives to disregard? And as for liberals and science...
What does a spokman for science think about liberals and science? Neil deGrasse makes a lot of interesting points.

Here's anotherone with Neil deGrasse pointing out a few examples of anti-science in the left.

Edit: And this nice article with especially what's quoted below.
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-liberals-war-on-science/
"Surveys show that moderate liberals and conservatives embrace science roughly equally (varying across domains), which is why scientists like E. O. Wilson and organizations like the National Center for Science Education are reaching out to moderates in both parties to rein in the extremists on evolution and climate change. Pace Barry Goldwater, extremism in the defense of liberty may not be a vice, but it is in defense of science, where facts matter more than faith—whether it comes in a religious or secular form—and where moderation in the pursuit of truth is a virtue."
I'll admit that I have my reservations about GMO's, but only to a point.Last edited by aretood2; 26 July 2017, 05:28 PM.

If a trans person wishes to serve, he/she can get their health issues resolved on their own dime, and once healthy, can join.
And no, we shouldn't be paying for Viagra either.

The Trans argument as I understand it is that since they were born in the wrong sex body and need a process and surgery to fix it (never mind the FACT that we can't really change people's sex, we don't yet have the technology to do it). This would mean that they are NOT in good health, disqualifying them from eligibility, just as it would disqualify anyone who is not in good health. That IS equal treatment under the law. Isn't that what they want?

Originally posted by Gatefan1976 View PostBut you do, at a cost five times the magnitude of trans medical expenses, you can look that one up if you want. How many arguments have you heard coming from -anyone- that it is unfair?
Of the $6 billion military medical budget around $8-10 million is spent on transgender servicemen. They make up roughly 0.2% of the military population. At least those who are out and receiving treatment. This makes up around 0.13% of the medical budget.
Erectile dysfunction spending is around $85 million.
And then there's the fact that the Republican's only wanted Trump to issue an Executive Order to bypass the debate over funding in the senate. Instead he went on Twitter to announce a total ban on transgender servicemen. Which is why everyone involved seemed to be taken by surprise. Why they were all referring questions back to the White House.
The Pentagon is currently conducting a six month review on trans people in the military to see if they cause any kind of significant disruption. So far they have found no evidence that they do.
And it is not "transgenders" they are not robots in disguise.
Trans men or Trans women.
Transgender men or Transgender women.
Being trans is not a disease. They are not sick because they are trans. It is not a mental illness.

But that is the exact argument they themselves make; that they were born into the wrong sex body, and want to have it "fixed", just as with any other defect. Never mind the inescapable fact that we do not yet have the medical technology to actually change an XX into an XY or the other way around.
