Judge Dredd (the 2012 version)
some solid action + the eponymous (anti)hero who was done just about right
in terms of acting there's no comparison to be made, Stallone (Judge Dredd 1995) is better - despite the lousy script he was given - but on the other hand it's near impossible to assess Karl Urban's performance since the new Dredd never takes off his helmet (just like in the comics). if anything I'd say awesome voice-acting
this version is darker than the 1995 version (in keeping with the JD comics at least the few of them I did read)
the 1995 version obviously had a bigger budget but aside from the occasional satirical elements it didn't quite feel like Dredd
looking forward to a sequel
hopefully with a bigger budget so they can expand on the whole Megacity1 storylineComment
