I am ok:-). I didn't see rain. Just the outer bands of it. I actually took 3 of my friends to my moms lakehouse farther west to get away from the hurricane ( they live in DC). I left my cell phone charger at home so no internet...doh
My sister in law and family made it in and got word that they don't have water or power at their house and it could be a while before they do.
But all in all at my house tons of branch debris and a tree down across my parents driveway...so all go:-)

Hope all is well Rad!
That is good that all are well ... sometimes the lower level hurricanes are worse ... moving slower ... dumping more rain!! eeeeeessshh!!
unfortunately it hit too far north and we got nada!! yesterday in was 99F (Friday 101F) and today 95F and lots, lots, lots .... tons of sun!!! made for a very hot and dehydrating time of climbing and rappelling!! i drank tons of water and never needed to relieve myself. all i have done since i arrived home is derink, drink, drink!!
at least the weekend was still a blast ... had one small set back ... was dangling awhile, two gents had to drag me back up over a ledge ... lets just say things were a little tangled and i was going nowhere. just taking in the view!!! the ledge was hot and think i actually burned the underside of my arms on it!!!

We're okay here in the aftermath of Irene, except for the flooding. With the river (Hudson) and all the tributaries - including our next door creek - just hitting flood stage and not expected to begin going back down until tonight, - tomorrow we'll be completely free of it all.
The only 'casualty' of this whole thing is my father had a heart attack Saturday. We didn't actually know it until he was in hospital. While clearing things up so everything was battened down for Irene's approach, (and he being someone who wants to do it himself) he started before we got to his house and ended up disturbing a wasp's nest and was stung multiple times. We called the paramedics, though he insisted on doing a thing or two before sitting down and realizing he was 'not right.' The EMTs came, and did an ekg, but nothing showed up then. I pushed for going to the ER because he was complaining about a pain in his back (just below the shoulder blades). Oddly, it didn't show up right away in ER until a blood test that indicates a cardiac event came back elevated. After a re-test, it showed up higher, which indicated he was actually in the midst of a heart attack.
Anyway, I'm off to the hospital, and not sure when I'll be online for now, so if you would please, ainty and thundy keep my list in play, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
