I'm just saying that I disagree with the fact that just b/c I see "[character A] and [character B]" doesn't mean I should expect a "surprise" or "fifth act" spoiller. "Preview" spoillers are fine (the premise of an episode without the details or "twists").
Oh, I agree with you. First, the post should have been in the episode specific thread, but failing that, the person should have at least used spoiler tags throughout his post.
However, preview type spoilers are still too much spoilage for some folks to tolerate.
I so detest spoilers. It really ruins future episodes and the whole storyline for me.
I got into stargate via SGA and only very recently started watching SG-1, from the very first season. I went into the Hathor episode thread and was horribly spoiled. In another thread in another forum someone gave away the SG-1 season one finale.
I think it's EXTREMELY inconsiderate to not warn of spoilers/use spoiler tags and such people deserve a boatload of negative rep, or frankly, shouldn't be allowed to post at all.

Spoilers = anything that is not currently in Syndication.
Unfortunately, particularly if you're going to go into an episode thread, you're guaranteed to be spoiled on anything that is not currently in syndication.
This means that if it's earlier than season seven, it's free reign and no spoiler tags are needed.
Because of how long the show has been going for, anything before season seven is considered common knowledge.
You can't expect everything to be in spoiler tags - otherwise the entire board would have to be highlighted to be read.
I would suggest if you want to stay spoiler free for earlier seasons, to stay out of the threads on those particular episodes.
and for the huge plot turns that affect the show even today - I can't really help you there. They're being talked about and with good reason. But they're also not expected to use spoiler tags because of the syndication rule.
Good luck with your spoiler free stance - and I envy you being able to watch each and every ep for the first time!!
