No idea actually, I've been looking for a good scifi show for years but still haven't found it.
The expanse, the new Star Trek shows, ... don't really inspire me.
The mandalorian was ok'ish, but the new Book of Boba Fett I stopped watching after the first episode, looked really boring both from a point of view of the main character (Boba Fett) and the background (Tattooine). (Plus Star Wars never did it for me, was already a miracle that I viewed the Mandalorian from start to finish, probably wouldn't watch a third season of that show either)
For me, the time of great scifi belongs to the past: Battlestar Galactica (reboot), Star Trek DS9, Babylon 5.
My scifi-fix these days comes more from books than from tv-series or movies
Of course, if we go outside of the scifi realm, there are lots:
- Vera
- Shetland
- Dalgliesh
- Endeavour
- Midsomer Murders
- Poirot
- Inspector Morse
- Inspector Gently
- Broadchurch
- ...
Basically any British detective series
Also: Outlander. Great series.Last edited by DrMckay; 31 January 2022, 11:21 PM.

It was slow to get going, lot of flashbacks, but once it brought us up to speed it was OK.
The disappointment was the number of episodes.
I made the observation When Stargate was churning out 20+ episodes per season, then Game of Thrones dropped it to 10 episodes per season, Then the Mandolorian down to 8 episodes. And no Boba Fett to 7 episodes as a FULL season.
Yes, I know. Star Wars is trying to film the Mandolorian & the Book of Boba Fett, & get Asoka Tano's story up and running, and the back-story for Obi wan Kanobi. And with the actors involved in multiple shows it is hard.
Then of course it is greed. "These shows are exclusive to OUR channel, & we do not want to give you the full show in one year, we want your subscriptions renewed over many years, even if it is only the one show you subscribe for"
