One of the things that I love about 1960's & 70's TV shows, was the slower pace, things weren't shoved on you at break-neck speed. Take the two-part 1974 Rockford Files episodes I just watched, in the second part the first 11 minutes was spent showing scenes from part 1. I like that, it lets the viewer get caught up to what had been shown the week before without feeling overwhelmed by the information as some would with today's super-speed pace.

Another thing that makes me smile about these old shows, is the way that people just casually produce and light up a cigarette or pipe anywhere, they never ask "Mind if I smoke"? They just do it as freely as a person today might glance at their wrist watch. I'm old enough to remember those times but it does seem far away now.
