            Southland #303 Discretion

Southland is one of my favorite cop shows and this episode is one of the heavier ones. It's quite good even if the ending was incredibly depressing.

                  Off the Map

My wife loves it, I find it acceptable. She watches enough sci-fi with me that I have no right to complain and there really isn't much else on!

                    Biloxi Blues

I hadn't watched BB in a very long time, for the first time in at least 10 years. After watching Band of Brothers and The Pacific and similar productions, there was something about some of the comedy in this movie that really made me cringe at times. I guess I found Eugene Jerome and Arnold Epstein—the two characters from New York—really irksome sometimes with their big mouths, while I could "get" Wykowski, Carney and even Hennessey and Toomey.

This is a big change from when I was much younger as I kind of liked Epstein & Jerome and disliked all the other characters. Many years of life experience can really result in reversals of perspective like this one.

I might have time to watch "Brothers" with Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman.
